03 Mar 15 UTC | Spring, 1: Rulers - take a look at the Variant Home page for A. Med game to see info on the game. Everything follows standard Diplomacy rules but there are a few unique items to be aware of for gameplay. Good luck and good fortune! |
04 Mar 15 UTC | Spring, 1: Thanks for the tip |
04 Mar 15 UTC | Spring, 1: not sure which page you mean. frankly, I'm regretting signing up. Not sure I have time to learn a whole new world! any advise is greatly appreciated, and will add to your enjoyment, once you defeat me! |
04 Mar 15 UTC | Spring, 1: BTW, i hate being Turkey!! |
04 Mar 15 UTC | Spring, 1: Nothing major: - Some island locations have special rules regarding how an army can get there (Baleares) - The four seas allows criss-cross movements (Ausonian<->Libyan Sea, for ex) - Athens/Sparta has a water channel that fleets can cross |
04 Mar 15 UTC | Spring, 1: Sorry - here is the link. http://www.variantbank.org/results/rules/a/ancient_med.htm |
05 Mar 15 UTC | Autumn, 1: Does the game move to the next turn if we all complete our orders early? |
06 Mar 15 UTC | Autumn, 1: Yes. The Pharaoh has saved his moves but hasn't clicked ready yet. (Gray Check mark) All other countries are clicked ready. (Green Check mark) |
14 Mar 15 UTC | Autumn, 3: Congrats, my Greek friend, in holding me off twice now. I am confused, though, how the rules enable you to do so. Can Athens and Macadonia both defend ithemselves and attack at the same time, depriving me of the two-on-one advantage of Messinian Sea to Sparta supported by Ionian Sea? |
14 Mar 15 UTC | Autumn, 3: he broke your support by attacking ionian sea - end of story. since you did not have support going into athens or macedonia you bonce out. |
14 Mar 15 UTC | Autumn, 3: Even when I attacked Athens from Epirius? |
14 Mar 15 UTC | Autumn, 3: Even when I attacked Athens from Epirius? |
14 Mar 15 UTC | Autumn, 3: EPI must respond to the attack from MAC which breaks that support. Maybe Caesar should think about cruising other waters rather than the Greek isles. Beautiful indeed but unobtainable at this juncture my friend. ;) |
15 Mar 15 UTC | Autumn, 3: Beware the Ides of March! Sadly the remnants of the magnificent Egyptian empire will be swept clean by desert winds and hidden by the sands of decline. Soon though it will be a tourist destination for eager explorers. Come and get your stuffed toy camels and your pyramid pops! Long live the Pharaoh! |
16 Mar 15 UTC | Spring, 4: These pyramids are nothing to write home about. I think I shall take a sphinx nose for a souvenir. |
17 Mar 15 UTC | Spring, 4: maybe so, but long after you've butchered us, you'll be nothing by a faded memory, while we'll get a high rating on Conde Naste! with or without our nose! |
17 Mar 15 UTC | Spring, 4: That's kicking sand in their eyes Pharaoh!! :) |
17 Mar 15 UTC | Spring, 4: i am confused. what gives with the order submission process? last move i saw that egypt and greece had saved but not ready orders - grey check box and not green check box - it was this way down to the final seconds - however, i see they both submitted orders in the end. how can this be so? i thought we had to ready orders to have them submitted. am i missing something? cost me a bomb with my (former) allies! |
19 Mar 15 UTC | Autumn, 4: so no one knows the answer to the above? |
20 Mar 15 UTC | Autumn, 4: I thought saved but not ready orders would go through. |
