21 Nov 14 UTC | Autumn, 2001: This whole 8 hour thing was a horrible idea... |
21 Nov 14 UTC | Autumn, 2001: Fuck, does Cuba ever do well? Even with the others gone I'm just going to get swallowed up by TexMex, this map needs to be redesigned. |
21 Nov 14 UTC | Autumn, 2001: You could do well if you had a friend. |
21 Nov 14 UTC | Autumn, 2001: 8 hours is pretty darn fast. Cuba just needs to get an army into Peru's territory otherwise Bogota is safe. When both Florida and Peru NMR, it's actually worse for Cuba since neither can be an ally or counterweight against the other powers. |
21 Nov 14 UTC | Autumn, 2001: Yeah last night I tried to stay up late for the next phase, and ended up falling asleep like an hour befire it started. Then of course I slept for like 9 hours. It's not that it's really too fast to handle, it's just the worst amount of time to where it's sometimes a struggle to log on in time like last night. It either needs to be much shorter or longer. And that's the biggest thing for Cuba. You're the only one not connected to the mainland, and so naturally you want to build fleets. But armies are still just as useful to you if not more. |
21 Nov 14 UTC | Autumn, 2001: Ya but convoying them can be tricky. I just notice that Cuba has zero advantage in any scenario here other than backstabbing or having a really good ally. Almost any other player can get a better foothold if they play right. Florida was my ally but how would I know that he would miss his turn. Otherwise I could have taken Miami and won out. I just find Cuba never does well. |
21 Nov 14 UTC | Autumn, 2001: Plus Texas backstabbed Florida I saw it coming but he didn't take the warning. Watch out Mexico |
