24 Jan 15 UTC Autumn, 2011: Depending on the answer, it may.
24 Jan 15 UTC Autumn, 2011: How?
24 Jan 15 UTC Autumn, 2011: If I explain it, it defies the whole point of getting an answer from France.
24 Jan 15 UTC Autumn, 2011: Sigh. To answer your question towards me, Turkey, I guess you could see it as bullying. Amusement is a tricky word. Can be used as in "Dance for my amusement" which is how you seem to see it... or as I intended which is, I will simply be able to have a moment of childish delight if we meet in Africa.
24 Jan 15 UTC Autumn, 2011: Hard to imagine the 20-pound gorilla (that's you Turkey, having the most SCs) being bullied though.
24 Jan 15 UTC Autumn, 2011: Russia: I can totally understand that kind of amusement, but can you understand that before you click "Draw" we can't be sure of your real motivation?
24 Jan 15 UTC Autumn, 2011: Can one ever in Diplomacy?
24 Jan 15 UTC Autumn, 2011: Russia, the "bullied" concept goes to the fact that I've been asking for a draw for years now, and we've now completed the conditions that you previously set forth for the draw. And now there are new conditions. It's pretty clear from my vote that I'm ready to finish this game. To set more conditions for that makes it feel like we're not playing Diplomacy, we're just being pushed around.
24 Jan 15 UTC Autumn, 2011: Poland: you can see my motivation down there with my Draw vote. Black and white.
24 Jan 15 UTC Autumn, 2011: Your Draw vote can be retracted at any time. I'm not saying that you will, but it's not something we can be sure about. That's the whole point of Diplomacy.
24 Jan 15 UTC Autumn, 2011: Alright, lets speak again after retreats and builds. You'll see my Draw vote will still be there. And you and Russia can hit draw anytime and you'll get the 4-way draw you asked for.
24 Jan 15 UTC Autumn, 2011: Hold on there. YOU asked for a 4-way draw. Just getting the facts straight.
24 Jan 15 UTC Autumn, 2011: As russia said i wanted to move to auv and russia removed unit. So i moved... really i must expaln this? i will move back if IT is condition to draw:)
24 Jan 15 UTC Autumn, 2011: w h y
24 Jan 15 UTC Autumn, 2011: Poland: I asked for an any-way draw. Russia suggested that we get rid of Ukraine and draw between all the original players. Poland, you suggested that you *might* draw if Ukraine and Italy were eliminated. Therefore, I've worked towards those ends. That's now happened.
24 Jan 15 UTC Autumn, 2011: because, i am from Auv (sentiment) :) but if u want to, i will move back.
24 Jan 15 UTC Autumn, 2011: Turkey: relax and wait 9hours... we'll see what happens then
24 Jan 15 UTC Autumn, 2011: Now, was that so hard?
24 Jan 15 UTC Autumn, 2011: France, you're right, there's no use going over this now until Ukraine and Italy are officially out.
24 Jan 15 UTC Autumn, 2011: Thank you, Turkey, for saying I'm right in waiting until Ukraine and Italy have disappeared.
25 Jan 15 UTC Autumn, 2011: Ukraine, thanks for finishing. Too bad Italy came back, and forced us to wait.
25 Jan 15 UTC Autumn, 2011: bye guys :)
25 Jan 15 UTC Autumn, 2011: Thanks Italy!
25 Jan 15 UTC Autumn, 2011: Is it ironic we are waiting on the previously impatient Turkey? :)
25 Jan 15 UTC Autumn, 2011: Sorry Russia, I had a day off yesterday for the first time in forever. Was trying to finish sorting things out.
25 Jan 15 UTC all in your hands Poland&Russia:)
25 Jan 15 UTC I'm waiting for Russia. If he draws, I draw. His request to meet Turkey in Africa has not been met yet.
25 Jan 15 UTC Russia, since having you in Libya puts you in a more advantageous strategic position, how about you give us something back in return for it? Just to prove that you're doing it for amusement, not as a way to gain an advantage?
25 Jan 15 UTC Isn't his word enough?
25 Jan 15 UTC I've got nothing against Russia, but it'd be a bit naive to depend on someone's word.
25 Jan 15 UTC Funny. That's what I'm saying this entire game and that wasn't good enough.
25 Jan 15 UTC Well, let's just see what Russia has to say about the proposal, eh?
25 Jan 15 UTC I think it's strange that you try to negociate this plan, that has been in place for many turns now, at the last moment.
25 Jan 15 UTC It has not been in place for many turns. It was suggested many turns ago, but has not been agreed to.
25 Jan 15 UTC And even though the previous suggestion was that Russia would draw right after Ukraine was eliminated, I'm not getting all bent out of shape about it: "(To: Global, from Russia) - Autumn, 2009: Well, we need to decide what we are doing. We did say if France turned we'd accept them, and I said if Ukraine was eliminated I'd draw."
25 Jan 15 UTC Again, let's wait and see what Russia has to say. If he has a counter-suggestion, I'll certainly listen.
25 Jan 15 UTC I don't see the need for a counter-suggestion. It was clear already several turns that Russia wanted to meet Turkey in Africa (Eastern sahara). France took Lybia, even when he knew that Russia wanted to go to Eastern Sahara. Again, it's France who messes things up. But, let's wait for Russia.
25 Jan 15 UTC This is what Russia said about Libya to France: "(To: Global, from Russia) - Spring, 2011: Also to be clear, I'd like to reach Turkey's other side. So at this point, Eastern Sahara. But I have no problems if you hold Libya until then."
26 Jan 15 UTC Turkey are u there?
26 Jan 15 UTC Just saw that message, France. I'm here for a moment, but I'll be away from internet access soon. Until about a half hour before the turn moves.
26 Jan 15 UTC Sorry folks, I'm here. Draw is fine.
26 Jan 15 UTC Anyway, just in case all of the discussion happens while I'm away... I'm going to move to Eastern Sahara, as Russia asked me on Sat, 6am (he has alternately said he wanted to go there and that he wanted me to go there. I'm going to go with Russia's most recent request). France, I would advise that you don't vacate Libya until you get some indication of Russia's good will, but I obviously can't stop you if you're satisfied, so it's your call. If you do vacate Libya, I would suggest moving to Maltese. I'll move a fleet to Libyan Sea, so we can take Libya back if Russia doesn't follow-through on the draw. To both Russia and Poland: can you please spend a move not attacking me? That would go a long way towards building trust.
26 Jan 15 UTC I simply wanted to say "We have you surrounded Turkey, come out with your hands up!" Meaningless bit of fun for my own entertainment. Draw set.
26 Jan 15 UTC Whoa, thanks for that Russia, and here I'm making all these contingency plans. Poland, ball's in your court...
26 Jan 15 UTC Understood.
26 Jan 15 UTC Geez Turkey.. you last long post shows how scared you are. lol
26 Jan 15 UTC Thank's for drawing Poland, I knew deep down you knew "the right thing to do"
26 Jan 15 UTC thx guys, long good game with surprising decisions (Ukraine) and offline players (Italy)
26 Jan 15 UTC Good Game people...
Poland, you have my admiration for your continuing ability to convince them we were in the driver's seat. Very Robert E. Lee.
26 Jan 15 UTC Weird but nice game, guys.:) Lot of plot twists.
LOL Russia, thank you!
I try to manipulate people by moves and words to my advantage. A draw in this situation was to my advantage. Starting a fight with France and/or Turkey at this late stage in the game would maybe even turn Russia against me. And the chance that I would come out on top, was too small to take the chance. ;)
