Spring, 1999: Today, with the governments of the nations of the continent of North America faltering, a new nation calling itself simply "Heartland" has emerged from the ruins of the former United States. The Heartland, is a coalition of five aligned former states of the USA, which includes Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, and Indiana. Led by president Isaac Cumberledge, the Heartland is a democracy, and therefore will be slow to get into things, but always dragging its feet to get out. The Heartland is looking to peacefully expand its presence in the former United States without causing alarm from other nations. President Cumberledge announced today that the state of Tennessee is in the process of creating a referendum now, and that two more states, Missouri and Michigan are in the process of voting for annexation by the Heartland. The Heartland Hopes that these votes are recognized and respected by the leaders of the new formed countries in North America. |

Spring, 1999: For the sake of diplomacy, Premier Kyle of Mexico recommends that Ontario not be given up by Quebec so easily. I believe that in order to uphold the near-equal distribution of land to newly formed nations that Quebec should get Ontario because our intelligence tells us that New New-York may be annexing Ohio. |

The Empire of Florida wishes that we can exist in peace and harmony but be forewarned if anyone lashes out against the Empire we will spare no resources in coming to an arrangement or if it leads to it fighting a war against them we will not hold back. This ends the announcement from the Empire of Florida by Emperor Czar Jason. |

Autumn, 1999: Today, the President of the Heartland, Mr. Cumberledge spoke on the incident, and public announcements made by Quebec today and yesterday. "I have received word, that Quebecois troops marched into Ontario, only one day after promising that land to New-York. The decision supposedly stems from the influence of one nation, Mexico. Now the nation of Quebec proposes a new United Nations. The Heartland laughs at this silly proposition by Quebec. After being swayed so easily from the opinions of one nation thousands of miles away, they expect us to trust them to an obvious leader position in the United Nations they want to form. What's to say that when a few nations are in this "New United Nations" and one nation declares war on another that the nation of Quebec won't just let it go?? Nay, the Heartland will not join this union with Quebecois leaders that obviously cannot think for themselves at the helm. With that stated, I President Cumberledge of the Heartland highly recommend that Ontario be given up by Quebec, and given to the country of New-York." |
