07 Mar 25 UTC Spring, 1994: Good luck everyone!
08 Mar 25 UTC Spring, 1994: gl
10 Mar 25 UTC Spring, 1995: Me and Egypt are arguing about which map is the best. I think that this map is the best, but they think the Fall of the American is the best. What do you guys think?
10 Mar 25 UTC Spring, 1995: i like this map more
10 Mar 25 UTC Spring, 1995: ok, now you gotta ask the players in the America game too, to make it fair ;)
10 Mar 25 UTC Spring, 1995: i like that everyone is the same size and can’t build anywhere in that variant
10 Mar 25 UTC Spring, 1995: But BC is so weak...
10 Mar 25 UTC Spring, 1995: all countries on this map have a good chance of winning.
10 Mar 25 UTC Spring, 1995: Nah man BC is super strong. I think one of the best countries actually. Much like Egypt they are a corner power and they always get 5/6 SCs year one
10 Mar 25 UTC Spring, 1995: On this map Spain and Poland are weak. And that’s fine. There has to be weaker and stronger countries. But when most countries start with 4 or even 5 and then poland is sitting right in the middle with 3, that’s rough. But you seem to be doing fine :)
10 Mar 25 UTC Spring, 1995: But poland can always expand super easily. If you look at previous games with this map, Poland usually gets super big year 6
10 Mar 25 UTC Spring, 1995: Yeah but none of your provinces are safe. And even with your maximum +3, you are still smaller than many powers even though they didn’t do as well as you in year one
11 Mar 25 UTC Spring, 1995: Nuh-uh. Germany's attack isn't going to do anything. Other than that, I am safe on all sides.
11 Mar 25 UTC Spring, 1995: In this specific game poland is doing well. Doesn’t mean poland is a strong country.
11 Mar 25 UTC Spring, 1995: But poland always does well as long as it has at least one of its neighbors as allies!
11 Mar 25 UTC Spring, 1995: Like look at this game for example: https://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=1303420
12 Mar 25 UTC Autumn, 1995: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
14 Mar 25 UTC Autumn, 1995: Not wrong, poland is safe if they ally one neighbor. But can they actually grow from that position? This game the verdict is still out. I also just feel that having some powers with 5 scs and some with 3 is naturally imbalanced. That’s why I like the america map. It has unique mechanics and all countries are the same size. I will say, I do enjoy the fact that this map has actual country borders.
