18 Mar 14 UTC so wtf was up with that alliance france?
18 Mar 14 UTC Thank you for the game.
18 Mar 14 UTC it was a perfect draw scenario until you allied with Germany without communicating... simultaneously...
18 Mar 14 UTC And i knew france was a good player in a bad place. Surprised to see you though Czech.
18 Mar 14 UTC Italy, that is why i am GR Rank 7 in Gunboats and Czech is like... 2?
18 Mar 14 UTC yep.. reporting you guys. sorry. but you colluded and metagamed. looked through match history and you guys play together all the time.
18 Mar 14 UTC hm.
18 Mar 14 UTC Also we did not do it simultaneously i missed it by one turn where he already messaged me.
18 Mar 14 UTC A perfect draw until you lost Bud AND wouldn't help me take the MAO. YOUR greed and inept play cost the game. I wasn't willing to waste any more time. A fleet build when you took Spain, really? WTF!
18 Mar 14 UTC you guys managed to support each others' moves simultaneously with no communication in prior turns.
18 Mar 14 UTC Sorry I missed the first year. I forgot to set an alarm for the start time and got distracted with work.
18 Mar 14 UTC Haha... you need to check the map for each turn for failed suppport hold and move oders. Those replace communication in gunboats.
18 Mar 14 UTC honestly i have no idea why he allied with you in the first place. it was a terrible call.
18 Mar 14 UTC ?? Metagame, cheating? Report away, I'm clean. Always have beena nd always will be. It's just a game that I play to have fun.
18 Mar 14 UTC Also chisox, gunboat is like a choreographed dance. Once you know the steps well enough you can dance blind in a certain situation. You on the other hand, missed a few steps.
18 Mar 14 UTC you literally gave him a free win bro. lol
18 Mar 14 UTC Czech, it was a very nice cooperation midgame. I really enjoyed this game.
18 Mar 14 UTC yep. there were a few in austria i clearly messed up. i'm still new to this thing. but it your alliance was strangely timed imo.
18 Mar 14 UTC You are dumb. I allied with him because you were going to win and you did not work with me. F Tyr-GoL and Ven-Pie were signs you wanted to win, not ally.
18 Mar 14 UTC He is just inexperienced Czech. Who really threw a wrench into your game was england with his drop/return thingie.
18 Mar 14 UTC that's fair actually. good point.

and yeah - it was a good game all around. for sure.
18 Mar 14 UTC yup. still new to the gunboat communication thang.
18 Mar 14 UTC Like Partysane said, once you've been to the dance you learn the moves. did you ever check the orders box after any of the turns?

Partysane it was fun. I thought we had a draw, but loosing Bud and the lack of cooperation just ruined any chance we had of stopping you
18 Mar 14 UTC Talk to us again about timing in games when you have the number of games down we have. I am at about 600 and Czech... 2000
18 Mar 14 UTC lol i'm well aware dude. relax. you don't need to whip it out - just a game :P
18 Mar 14 UTC Yah, I was surprised England attacked. It was clear I wasn't going for him until he hit channel and cost me Bel.
18 Mar 14 UTC Yes, even though i was certain to win even without Bud. But yes, that one ended that game effectivly.
18 Mar 14 UTC Don't misunderstand me chisox. I really thought you were someone with more experience, you played well and i did in no way intend to offend.
It's just that being accused of cheating is... annoying.
18 Mar 14 UTC Wait a second and i post you a link to a game where two dudes really metagamed.
18 Mar 14 UTC http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=138127#gamePanel
18 Mar 14 UTC Amen. I laugh any time someone complains to the mods about me cheating. I wish I could see their emails explaining that Um er he doesn't cheat.
18 Mar 14 UTC nah i hear you... just from my inexperienced perspective, we were all on pretty even footing until the (seemingly) random supports between you guys. Sorry about that. No, I haven't gotten used to checking the order log. I hardly have enough time to make all 12+ moves :P
18 Mar 14 UTC I was in that game. Did we get points back or anything?
18 Mar 14 UTC Try some games with longer phases to get used to the gunboat play. Doing it all on the fly when you have a lot of units can get stressy.
And you misread the field a little about the even footing thing.
18 Mar 14 UTC Not yet Czech. Jmo is still investigating, but he said it would be canceled as soon as he was finished, Just a question of time as i understand it.
18 Mar 14 UTC haha yes i was in a slightly advantageous position at that point for sure - so I understand the alliance - although I did have my draw up. But yeah. I then made a few mistakes dealing with the pincer from you and France... yeah all in all definitely things I can improve on. Anyway sorry for jumping to conclusions. Good stuff
18 Mar 14 UTC chisox05 where did you play before here. This is your only game of record.
18 Mar 14 UTC It's no matter. You are neither ignorant about what happened (many are) nor insulting (many are).
The draw vote at that point in the game is just another communication tool by the way. It is meaningless when you are in a position to win and make the wrong moves towards france and by that eliminating the possibility to cooperate meaningfully in the near future.
18 Mar 14 UTC different site, but my buddy said he liked this one better so I thought I'd try it out
18 Mar 14 UTC yep - like i said, not super familiar with gunboat communication. i'll read up on it :P
18 Mar 14 UTC It is the best one around as far as i am concerned. Many live games, many tournaments and an active community.
Live games, especially low bet ones, suffer from CDs quite a lot, but as soon as the stakes get higher that problem reduced significantly.
18 Mar 14 UTC although you gotta wonder if having an actual england would've contained you more germany.
18 Mar 14 UTC Check the forum for the Gunboat SoW (School of War) Games and threads. Some good tips in there.
18 Mar 14 UTC Maybe, but the way it was russia grew more than usual, so it was of no real benefit to me. France had two english centers until i got a fleet into north sea.
18 Mar 14 UTC What really made me was the russian collapse.
18 Mar 14 UTC yeah for sure. anyway thanks for the tips, i'll check out those threads. fun game. well played.
18 Mar 14 UTC Yep. See you around.
