07 Jan 14 UTC Nice game Skittles. Glad you saw that I was trying to get rid of Italy.
07 Jan 14 UTC Good game all! Very well done, Austria.

Apologies for holding up the game a bit, I haven't seen a solo threat pull backto thin the draw before
07 Jan 14 UTC Good game, guys. I thought I was going to solo for a while there.

Unfortunately, I underestimated your skill. A couple of moves in the game, including letting me walk into Berlin, led me to believe I was dealing with a player who was not very good. Because of this, I lost Berlin in 1907. I saw the move that a good player would probably make to take Berlin, and I also saw that I counter-bounce that by a supported attack from Berlin to Munich, but that would leave Berlin open to a supported attack from Kiel. At that time, I just didn't feel like I was dealing with the type of player who would sacrifice Munich here in order to take Berlin. Of course, my opponent turned out to be a very good player.
07 Jan 14 UTC No worries, Vallk. You didn't hold up the game. I always like to thin the draw, when possible. Sometimes you need to be cautious, as the solo threat can always press the attack again (sometimes, with the help of the person that is being squeezed out of the draw) and get the solo. In this instance, it was very safe for you to eliminate Italy, but that's not always the case.
07 Jan 14 UTC Leaving Berlin open was a calculated risk on my part. I had two builds coming that turn, and I made the (wrong) assumption that you would support yourself to Silesia and assume that I would cover Berlin with F BAL, which would have let me build in both Kiel and Berlin.

I actually gave some thought at one point (S1907, the same turn I retook Berlin) about making a play to eliminate both England and Italy, but I knew that time wasn't on my side if I wanted to risk it before you eliminated Russia and Turkey. You kept the pressure on Munich, though, so I couldn't move out Berlin or Kiel to build an extra fleet.
07 Jan 14 UTC Valik, always check the orders - I was ordering support to Spain from Gascony for two or three turns in a row to try and get you to take the hint.
