06 Jan 25 UTC GG all!
06 Jan 25 UTC First, I thank and commend California. If I were California, I don't think I would have survived until 2003. I may have lost opportunity for solo by allying with you, but I think your survival is worth it. Cuba, Florida, sorry for betraying you.
06 Jan 25 UTC Heartland, you’ve been the strong opponent and mediator between California and me. Thank you.
06 Jan 25 UTC I'm not familiar with this variant, but is this stalemate line a well known one?
06 Jan 25 UTC Well played folks, fun game.

Mexico - yes, you had good instincts. That is indeed one of the common stalemate lines.

Heartland - great job at seeing thr writing on the wall when you did and signaling for peace.
06 Jan 25 UTC GG, in the end a pragmatic 3 way draw.

At the start, with Texas misordering and getting destroyed early, I had hoped Mexico and I could divide that area and not fight. But that didn't happen for a while, and I had to leave lots of units there. But I managed to overcome Quebec with help from NY.

My alliance with NY lasted, and somehow survived changes of the player. If the first NY had still been around at the end I might have felt bad about the draw reduction, but in the end it seemed sensible.

The bad move was attacking west in the middle of the game, I thought I could get to the west coast fast enough to stop California building enough armies to stop me. But it went horribly wrong, I took two centres, but knew I couldn't hold them. Worse I now had Cally fleets in the Arctic. So I tried to pull back, not too fast! and thankfully California accepted that.

I judged that I could take enough from Florida before we lost, so I went for that, and it worked out.

Still learning the stalemate lines in this variant. But this one does seem like a straight line across the board.

Well played Mexico and California, thanks to all for the game.
