Good game everyone. Particularly Cali and Mexico. You two put up a hard fight to prevent the solo. |

GG though! Fun game for sure |

Congrats to New York, but the credit should be to California and Mexico for aiding it greatly. And, sure, I helped too, but that was partly intentional, at least at one stage of the game. |

Thoughts on the game from the Texas perspective. I remember now why I dislike gunboat even if it takes less time. It's difficult to negotiate, even harder to call a truce, and near impossible to let someone know they are being foolish until now when it's too late. The game started with Heartland getting greedy and going for Kansas when he already had Missouri. So he picked the fight, and once engaged, there was no incentive to pull off. I might have been ok with just Missouri, but even when faced with hostility on all sides, he chose to keep force against me. I am not exactly sorry to have supported New York into Chicago (even though it apparently bought me no goodwill). |

Your help with Chicago only got me that center 1 turn earlier than i would’ve got it on my own |

The next fight was with Mexico. Here, I thought I might have an ally, but apparently after I helped him into Chihuahua, he decided to stab the undefended British Columbia instead. Anyway, early on, I thought I had changed an order set that would have gotten me into Potosi, but apparently it didn't save, and when Mexico got builds, things were truly stalemated. Since Mexico was mainly defending, I tried to disengage, hoping he wouldn't push against me. I even gave him a center, but no, of course he continued to push. Why would he act differently than everyone else? There was a season where he took three centers, one from each of his neighbors. So, great season? No, it was strategically horrible, as those three neighbors were the ones holding New York back. To his credit, Mexico seemed to realize his mistake, and from that point on, he was the main defender against New York's solo. And I can't be too salty because he did permit me to survive in the end. |

Ah, California. Sorry, but this loss is primarily on you. The stab on British Columbia disintegrated the only strong resistance to New York after he had smashed Quebec. Then you turned on me as I knew you would. That was why I was trying to pull north from Mexico. You gained nothing from that attack except unopposed New York breaking through everywhere. When I decided to abandon the region, it was with the knowledge that you couldn't hold it. And you still spent several seasons trying to take Dallas. I denied it just to be difficult. It was dumb anyway. You could have been putting up a better defense against New York. New York's praise for your defense was misplaced. Only Mexico and perhaps Peru really fought back. |

Then, there's Florida. With Heartland, Mexico and California all against me, the Las straw was when Florida supported Heartland in Missouri against me. I decided if I was going down, I was taking him with me. I was surprised how quickly he went down, but he was entangled with Peru and couldn't disengage. Still, no regrets about the move. I realized it was more or less giving New York the game, but at that point, I didn't care. While Mexico's three center haul may have been the point of no return, no doubt, my Florida assault put New York on the path to success. |

Honestly, I was a bit annoyed that New York attacked me so relentlessly when I had basically handed him the upper Midwest, but I was thinking he only needed 30 to win. Whoops! When the game didn't end, I knew he would take Florida as part of the extra four. I only survived thanks to Mexico although I did help him into Dallas and manage to keep it. I felt like I put up a decent fight in Florida, but with no support there, there was nothing I could do. Perhaps if California and Mexico had turned to focus on New York sooner and if Peru had had a bit more success, the four of us might have held New York, but it was always a long shot after my Florida assault. |

True enough about Chicago, but speed was of the essence. The speed of your growth is why you won. |

Californias retreat into Yukon and North BC slowed my expansion by 3 years. Bought Mexico the time they needed come up set a line in the south west. Peru stopped putting orders in when I got to Hawaii, so I’m not going to give him that much credit |
24 Nov 24 UTC |
With Hawaii, you had already won. By the same logic, California's retreats didn't change the outcome. Too little, too late. While you may have taken extra caution with them up there, they didn't really do anything. |

He put more emphasis on taking back Chihuahua, which was ultimately wasted resources. |
25 Nov 24 UTC |
Yes, I made many foolish mistakes. I had not truly worried about New York until it was much too late and by then I couldn't see that trying to gain centers to offset the ones I was losing was a lost cause and only helped my enemy. |
