Help.
How do you deal with unprovoked verbal violence in a game. I know it isn't against a site rules. But if I mute a player will it mute them in a game thread?

Webdip Conservatives have convinced me my world view is flawed.
I have decided to become a Republican and a Libertarian because the arguments made on this forum have convinced me the Democrat party is no better than the pro-slavery radicals of the 1860's. I have learned that tax cuts for the wealthy, deportations, and putting business and moneymaking ahead of health of US citizenry is paramount

Are there really 87165 registere players ..and 77000 odd games completed. That leave 1712 playing currently in so Im no accountant but those numbers seem a bit out of whack..

Either we need to clean up old dead unsed accounts ..or there are a freeking lot of multis.. I believe and would hope its just a case of cleaning out the old accounts.

is there a way of doing an easy rollcall as such ??
Octavious (2802 D)

I'm a little confused by the multi comment. You need to be active in order to carry out vile acts of multi-ing, so I'm going to go out on a limb and say the hoards of inactive players is not a threat.

The inner teenager in me hears your call for a tidying up exercise, and his response is to ask what the benefit of this work would be?
2ndWhiteLine (2736 D(B))

An admin could pretty easily pull the number of accounts active in, say, the last six months, or whatever measure you wanted to use to define an "active" user. Either way, the site has way more active users than 1712, since you don't need to be playing in a game to be an active user. Zultar, for example, hasn't played a game since the first Obama administration but is still active on the site. As for multis, there aren't as many banned as you might think.

A lot of people join, play once, find it's not for them, and leave. An even larger amount join and forget about it and never play at all. This is the case on just about every major website online; it isn't really something for us to be concerned about.
A_Tin_Can (2234 D)

^ this is correct

Source: I looked in to this ages ago.

Also, active unique users per month is actually higher than the currently active counts, because we have users who fairly exclusively play live games.
A_Tin_Can (2234 D)

Last time I checked, active users per month was between 2,500 and 2,000 depending on the season.

Also, our busiest day is Wednesday. So many of you play at work. Naughty naughty!

Cheers I just pulled the figures from the text on the login pages and thought if each person who created and account played at least one game the games played would be slightly higher as a ratio to accounts registered..

I didnt consider the folks who just like a forum chat ..

Have a nice day :-)

You know, i'm having the weirdest sense of deja vu... Did we have this conversation before??

I just checked this via Google Analytics:

1 Day Active Users: 1,353
7 Day Active Users: 3,211
14 Day Active Users: 4,977
30 Day Active Users: 8,488

Other fun facts:
49.3% of users hit the site from phones, 44.2 from desktops/laptops and 6.5% from tablets.

Our top browsers used are:
1. Chrome 58.40% (I'm so proud of our member base)
2. Safari 26.34%
3. Firefox 8.06%
4. Internet Explorer 2.49% (except you guys)
5. Edge 1.58% (and you...seriously what are you thinking?)
6. Android Browser 0.66%
7. Android Webview 0.58%
8. UC Browser 0.41%
9. Opera 0.40%
10. Amazon Silk 0.31%

And yes orathaic, we had this conversation before. I pulled stats from the DB that time, so I went with google analytics this time.

Hahaha thanks @jmo1121109 thats interesting. Totally agree on the IE, McsftE thing ;P
Hi. I'm an IE user. At the least, please consider how much better IE is to Edge. Although this view stems from a personal anecdote, Edge is like a buggy, slow, copy-paste of Safari, with all that is bad from IE added in.
I couldn't even reliably access, sort and delete my bookmarks. What kind of useless piece of crap can't do that?! Even Leaf on a Raspberry Pi works better!
On the other hand, IE is rather slow.

Hi. I'm an IE user as well. At the least, please consider how much better IE is to a typewriter. Although this view stems from a personal anecdone, a typewriter is like a buggy, slow, copy-paste version of Safari, with all that is bad from IE added in.

oooh thanks for the info jmo. Is there a way to run a report on the relative stats of different browser users? This is a useless question, but there's got to be data out there answering the following:

-Do larger quantities of webdip points/higher GR correlate to use of a particular browser?
-Does compulsively accessing the site multiple times a day while at work to check for press and/or re-re-re-re-analyze orders actually make you better at the game?
-Can we conclusively prove that an Edge user has never won a game?

It is always darkest before the dawn
Given the Don Jr. revelations, this might seem like a bleak time for the Republicans, but if they can wait out the media coverage without breaking rank they will be have saved Trump. There is no larger shoe yet to drop and it will be morning in America again.

Why shouldnt North Dakota have a nuclear weapons programme?
The US has nuclear weapons. We got silos and shit all over Montana/ND and SD. Who are we to say that North Dakota is not entitled to secede and have their own nuclear arsenal?

i think we all understand the implications of this: twitter is a digital forum open to the public, but it's also privately operated and it has set rules. the decision on this case is going to have sweeping effects on the internet and internal law alike

Why shouldn't North Korea have a nuclear weapons programme?
The US has nuclear weapons. The UK does. France does. China does. Russia does. Israel probably does. India and Pakistan might also.

Who are we to say that North Korea is not similarly entitled?
