@Hauta
i have no problem with the basic idea of poverty, i have a problem with the law being distributed unequally among the classes.
furthermore, just as it is not wise to look solely at class and ignore race, it is equally if not more unwise to look solely at race and ignore class.
in fact, most data i see that *proves* racism in institutions, can easily be explained away by classism. the inherent problem is the fact that more black people are in poverty.
now the causes of poverty... some are historical racism, some are modern racism, and some are simply a failure of culture.
what our political classes have a hard time distinguishing is the proportion of these errors.
the far left would claim it's 50-50-0 and the far right would claim it's 0-0-100
personally i'd like to understand why schools with less rigorous standards in big cities controlled by democrats are failing african american students at such a high degree, why the gang participation rate is so much higher with hispanic and african american kids, and also why the single motherhood rate is so massive, that all black unemployment and imprisonment can't even explain it.
yes there is racism, but with these issues, i like to either address it case by case, or be entirely noncommittal to generalizations on a widespread level.
