Is This Bipartisan?
so conservatives don't like forcing taxes from people, and liberals like social programs. so, how do we fund social programs without taxes?

Why are people not playing LIVE games nowadays?
I am back after a long time. 4 years to be precise. But when I left, there used to be a lot of LIVE games all the times. Now, whenever I peek the website out of curiosity, I never find a LIVE game. I tried making rooms, but no one ever joined!

What happened here? :p
Care to brief me a bit?

It's okay to make illegal immigrants US citizens if they are white Europeans instead of Mexicans or Russians. At least before Trump since he might make an exception for his Russian "friends."

cultures can be destroyed from both within and without. re. gay marriage completes the destruction of the hetero marriage tradition; begun by heteros who choose to live together mimicking marriage as well as mocking it. Western Society continues its downfall into insignificance.
Hauta (1618 D(S))

The traditional marriage was arranged by families. Should we go back to that too Brad? Or just the part that forbid interracial marriage? How far back does your tradition lie?
CAPT Brad (40 DX)
16 Mar 17 UTC
I addressed the interracial marriage issue before; but as you don't read my posts i will tell you again. The interracial marriage was an aberration imposed by the Jim Crow Democrats of the south. i do not support Jim Crow and side with the intent of the Reconstruction envisioned by Lincoln and executed by Grant (Republicans). which by the way was fought against by democrats from the north and south. Arranged marriages have been the cultural norm for various societies and at different points in history. The practice had a purpose in the providing a place for children through marriage. The strength of arranged marriages lay in the cultural milieu where this was practiced. There was often an appreciation of the value of marriage, its obligations and contributions to the culture in the procreation and education of children. These marriages generally lasted. However free consent is an essential element of a valid marriage. However marriage was considered a covenant by which a man and a woman established between themselves a partnership for life and focused for the benefit of the spouses and the procreation and education of children. You see that children have been a significant reason for marriage.
CAPT Brad (40 DX)
16 Mar 17 UTC
When you devalue children to a 'choice' you devalue marriage to a 'decision'. The point of marriage was protective of women and children. Ask a woman who is 'cohabiting' if she feels a full partnership in the relationship even if there is sharing of expenses and duties. Often these cohabiting relationships are one-sided to the benefit of the male.
CAPT Brad (40 DX)

How far back should i go hauta?

In his preaching Jesus unequivocally taught the original meaning of the union of man and woman as the Creator willed it from the beginning permission given by Moses to divorce one's wife was a concession to the hardness of hearts. The matrimonial union of man and woman is indissoluble: God himself has determined it 'what therefore God has joined together, let no man put asunder'.
Hauta (1618 D(S))

Yawn. So why you always sucking up to Grant? Are you a descendant or something? Great general but inattentive (at best, corrupt at worst) President.

CAPT Brad (40 DX)

I actually have studied Grant's administration and most of the bad press comes from his being a republican during the resurgence of southern democrat power post civil war. not everything can be just gleaned of the internet. although there were corrupt persons in the administration, he was never part of that. he really attempted to reform appointing the first and only native american as the head of the bureau of indian affairs. most of the problems came from a reluctant congress to stay the course in developing civil rights in the south through the Reconstruction process and the weariness of northerners over the issue of black advancement in the south. this combined with the resistance of southern whites to black republican office holders or voters caused Grant to eventually back off and let what happen, happen. had there been more of an effort to continue the Reconstruction plan then Grant's reputation would have been higher. as it is Reconstruction finally fell because republicans wanted to maintain their hold on the presidency and they agreed to the end of it to elect Hayes and pushed aside Grant who would have won a third term.

Of *course* Brad turns this into a gay marriage thread. *yawns* All while clinging to today's Dixiecrats. Of course, he can't seem to find a scrap of evidence that gay marriage destroyed anyone's culture, but that never stopped him from pontificating.
Hauta (1618 D(S))
16 Mar 17 UTC
I think I see Brad's point. Lincoln was great, Grant was great, Democrats in the South all the way up to the 1960s were bad and that's it. Time to lock in. Republicans can't tarnish their image. Democrats can't burnish their image. Not a very flexible view but it does cut down on the thinking. That's time to read books about when America was great. Brad, Brad, Brad, I like that you're reading but please read something more relevant to today!

if you look over the battles on reconstruction you will see the reason for the current issues of our society especially over race. the civil war is still being fought and reconstruction is still being resisted.

Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it definition. Studying history is necessary to avoid repeating past mistakes. This saying comes from the writings of George Santayana, a Spanish-born American author of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

Reading about the civil rights movement, the use of policing against 'threats to power' (FBI executing civil rights leaders, violent splinter groups who were condemned, that sort of thing) and the historical narrative which mainstream source choose to present after the fact (essentially appropriating the good work of the civil rights movement, while ignoring the massive mainstream/state power oppositio ... Look at the anti-rascism, femminist, anti-poverty movements, along with the anti-war movement, and see how two out of four 'succeeded' while the other two were threats to the state...)

That is the modern history, bi-partisan state power, used against the people. JFK killed for leaning too far away from the traditional power bases?

World Diplomacy Map Alterations
Hello WebDiplomacy. I have a group of people are making a physical World Diplomacy map for a big event, but we have agreed the board has some problems. Most of the people weighing on this issue say they want to take away South Africa's unit in Antarctica and instead put it in Madagascar as a fleet. However, I am worried that, unless South Africa and Argentina actively worked to stop this, it would give Antarctica too many possibilities for expansion in its home continent.
