I don't think he muted me, he may have threatened to. Playing a game with Valis, and surviving negotiations with him is definitely a WebDiplomacy "rite of passage" imho. He's a deadly player, a right wizard at the Diplomacy caper.
I'll bet he knows how, in the Ancient Mediterranean variant, exactly how to convoy an army through the eye of a needle to capture the Promised Land. I dare not ask him, that's not just courageous, it's suicidally bold. Like you can ask ATC how you do it, you won't get an answer, well I never did, just that inscrutable smile, but at least you come away from asking ATC with limbs intact and no digits missing.

Apparently you just mute people and don't listen to them.

Muting people doesn't get rid of the abuse, valis. It only makes you blind to it.

Why would anyone want to, Ezio ? One Valis is quite enough for this site, imho.

How to be Valis.
1. Read every old forum post.
2. Mute most of the forum threads so that they're not distracting.
3. Mute anybody who does anything you don't like in a game. Bonus if it's gunboat.
4. Play 50 gunboats at once.
5. Become a mod and get told that you're not allowed to mute forum threads.

In a way more consistent with the meaning of the word mute in the real world, I probably deserved it for my many sins.

I think, Peterwiiggin, it takes a great deal more than what you've described to "be Valis" ..like the recipe for Milton the Monster..you forgot the "sinister sauce" and the " essence of terror" for starters. Anyone contemplating "making their own Valis" should first read the story of Victor Frankenstein's adventures, it doesn't end well.

And i've also been muted by him, although spammed him with enough "Cannot send message; this country has muted you." to eventually get unmuted again. Muters always eventually give in to curiosity and unmute to see what's happening.

Yes; no, but if you post in global they get a message notification but just can't see it, it's not replaced just invisible in global
