Chat on mobile bug?
When I open the in-game messaging window on mobile (Chrome, iOS) my country messages have been "resetting" to a past (earlier) message spontaneously, forcing me to scroll down in the tiny chat window to read the latest message. Anyone else seeing this?

Is Trump manipulating foreign currency markets?
Trump makes announcements that affect the Mexican Peso (usually negatively) and yet his financials are a mystery. Is it possible that he is personally trading on the markets that he can influence so much or am I being paranoid?
JamesYanik (548 D)

@Hauta

you're not at all paranoid. this is why we have to have blind trusts set up. It doesn't mean he's guilty, but this is a position of unknown that we CAN'T ALLOW in Politics.
Matticus13 (2844 D)

(+2)
Of course it's possible. I'm reminded of the time Carl Icahn purchased a large quantity of Apple stock, then announced he had done so on Twitter and that he believed the company stock was going to continue to climb. The stock promptly jumped as a result. A bit different, but they both have the status to effect financial markets significantly.
Randomizer (722 D)

But Trump hasn't really put his money in a blind trust. He knows pretty much know where his money is and still has some control over what happens to it. He's just removed himself from board positions.
Manwe Sulimo (419 D)

It is super easy for anyone of a high social stature to manipulate markets to personally benefit themselves financially. Financial markets work on supply/demand. If you affect the demand for something based on what you tell others, you are going to affect the price of it. Matticus offers a prime example, and I can say that I personally remember other times Icahn has done this. We're talking about him probably putting in tens or hundreds of millions of dollars into a stock, publicly saying he believes it is a great investment, and then having it go up 600% in a matter of days/weeks and making him hundreds of millions to billions of dollars. Definitely not something you want the person in charge of approving laws/policies for your country to be taking part in. Creates a huge conflict of interest that doesn't put the people of the country first.

True that many with money, power, and social influence can move markets, but it's unconstitutional for the President to do so. That's why there are lawsuits against him already to stop this action: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/01/22/us/politics/trump-foreign-payments-constitution-lawsuit.html?_r=0

In reality, most of the stuff posted here is plain self-serving garbage thrown by people using others ideas gleaned from the internet.
You can speak to me of importance when you have stood endless watches in an engineroom or on a ships bridge, adopted teenagers from the foster care system, cradled your dying mother as she gasped her last breath from lungs riddled from cancer due to years of smoking, or taught inner city kids who take different routes to and from home to avoid the gangs and have a set of textbooks at home so they are not picked on. i can go on but i have lived life; most of you children have no idea.

@CAPT Brad

i do find your "how much your networth? do any of you really have any practical knowledge of money or all of your knowledge from someone else's ideas?" a little aggressive without substance. ONLY have hands on knowledge can be just as detrimental to understanding something as ONLY having a theoretical working with it.

Tom Bombadil (4023 D(G))
28 Jan 17 UTC
I'm still wondering why you believe you have more experience than me (and others). You literally know almost nothing about me. Are you that arrogant that you think you have more experience or knowledge than everyone?

If you do have the millions you say, especially in property, surely you can see the massive conflicts of interest Trump will have to avoid.
slypups (1889 D)
28 Jan 17 UTC
Don't ask CAPT_Brad for his tax returns. Then he can refuse and run for the Presidency. Dang, too late now...he's qualified. What have you done?
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
28 Jan 17 UTC
Of course, Brad. I'm not stupid; I know people evade taxes. No shit. You keep avoiding the question that Tom is asking, though, so maybe try replying.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))

Secondarily, why does your experience in the Navy and your blatant disregard for your own lifelong privilege, as demonstrated by the fact that you make yourself out to be some sort of god-given savior to those oh so poor inner city kids, make you better than the rest of us?
CAPT Brad (40 DX)
28 Jan 17 UTC
Oh Tom, when do you think i interjected you into the conversation? and i don't have millions yet (although i am nearly plural). i claim not vast knowledge and experience but likely more than the majority here; certainly more eclectic and varied than the posters here that spout others idea as if they were their own. so tell me about yourself, impress me with your vast experiences, education and contributions
ssorenn (0 DX)
28 Jan 17 UTC

Umm, tax returns don't reflect net worth
Tom Bombadil (4023 D(G))
28 Jan 17 UTC
Brad. This doesn't have anything to do with "life experience". That's just a phrase people use to utilize ageism. Knowledge or experience about the topic would relevant. Your brief anecdotes while certainly interesting don't seem relevant. I'm sure you have more "life experience"(you've had more birthdays) than most people here.
Tom Bombadil (4023 D(G))
28 Jan 17 UTC
And you "interjected me" when you directly asked me if I am always dismissive of those who have more experience than me.
CAPT Brad (40 DX)
28 Jan 17 UTC
your own lifelong privilege.....god-given savior
interesting language to use.
i claim no such thing. i was a servant to others, my God, my country, my community, my school, my family. whatever time, talents, and treasure i have i have used to work for the benefit of others. your tone betrays your own arrogance and jealousy. i would pity you but that is a liberal's cop out. rather i would pray that you work to find your life useful and beneficial to others as i have had the 'privilege' to have.

Consider Autumn turn. A player has a single original supply center. His last unit is somewhere else.
His last supply center is captured. He will be dead when Fall begins. However, he is in a position where he can capture one of my many supply centers. Will I lose that supply center in the Fall if he moves to that providence?
