Chat on mobile bug?
When I open the in-game messaging window on mobile (Chrome, iOS) my country messages have been "resetting" to a past (earlier) message spontaneously, forcing me to scroll down in the tiny chat window to read the latest message. Anyone else seeing this?

Trump makes announcements that affect the Mexican Peso (usually negatively) and yet his financials are a mystery. Is it possible that he is personally trading on the markets that he can influence so much or am I being paranoid?

CIA and ongoing covil disturbance in the US...
https://theintercept.com/2017/01/25/seymour-hersh-blasts-media-for-uncritically-promoting-russian-hacking-story/

Tl;dr the CIA posted an opinion piece, the media incritically reported it as true.

The CIA, known for misleading the public and breaking the law by being involved on US soil in the first place, appear to have it in for Trump.

By claiming (as was widely reported in the media) that his election backed by Russia, they stoked anti-Trump sentiment among the massive number of people who didn't vote for him. (Only 18% of the population, or 26% of the electorate, voted for Trump)

I have to presume the CIA know what they are doing, so what conclusion can i draw? That they fear Trump as commander-in-chief? That they want to see him removed from office asap?

So i predict further protests, potential assassination attempts, rioting, and if Trump is removed - by any means - massive civil unrest.

Do the CIA care? Who knows...

Journalists being arrested, this is not Trump's fault... The militarised police state was a problem under Obama. The BlackLivesMatter movement exists for a reason.

And today the freedom of the press is being infringed. Journalists who report on protests are getting the message that they will be charged with Felonies. And this is not a result of Trump (aka President fart) being in power. He didn't order the police force to be more fascist. But the success of the Trump campaign has emboldened fascistic elements across the board.

In positions of power, Republican Governors across the country.

The threat to the fourth estate, and Trumps ongoing squabble with the 'media' is a threat to America. To what the best ideals of America try* to stand for.

(See: https://www.theguardian.com/media/2017/jan/24/journalists-charged-felonies-trump-inauguration-unrest )

*Even at its best, 'these truths are self-evident, that all men were created equal' - the US held some men as unequal slaves. And today, slavery is acceptable as a form of punishment for crime... And criminals are denied their right to vote. (Which has come up as an issue in the European court of Human Rights... The US doesn't lead the world in freedom and human rights issues, but at least you try!)

I read a great article about journalism and activism. Basically, if you use your press pass to gain access to an event, you can't be an activist. Your press pass will not protect you if you are participating in the rioting, it only protects if you are an objective bystander. The investigation will bring out more, but some of these people claim to be "journalist activists", which is an oxi-moron.

Ever the contrarian ora, you just can't help yourself. As our commander in chief would say. Sad. Your post is based on the false assumption and logical leap that the protests are based on Russian hacking. I severely doubt that. The protests are based on his statements and actions on minorities, his policy proposals that target them and democratic society and a host of other issues. Of course the hacking plays a small part, but if they wanted to stir up unrest, there would be many more efficient ways to do so.

It also is based on the false assumption that it is uncritically promoting the story. Something tells me that when the pig headed President goes into a meeting saying that their was no hacking, and comes out saying "their was but it was DNCs fault" that the intelligence community has their ducks in a row on this one.

Just more Ora contrarianism.

@"Your post is based on the false assumption and logical leap that the protests are based on Russian hacking" It is not. I am critical of those who use and abuse power. Whether they are Militarised police using violence against protesters, CIA lies trying to oust a president they don't like, or a President who scares me more than anything in US history. You realis he's got the power to order troops anywhere in the world, and he had a tantrum when the media reported that less people attended his inauguration

But not everything is Trump's fault.

If you get sucked into the anti-Trump narrative, then you become more willing to let the wool be pulled over your eyes by the CIA, by the powers that oppose Trump, by the fascistic trend in American policing.

You might forgive the drone strike program that Obama ran, as 'well it is not as bad as what the Donald might do.'

I am critical of all.

I completely agree with you that he is unfit for office. What I don't immediately agree with is that the CIA is attempting a coup. To me, it looks like they were legitimately attempting to convince him that Russia hacking into our federal government is a threat, and the idiot responded by attacking the intelligence community and bringing the feud into the public.
orathaic (1009 D(B))
26 Jan 17 UTC
I fear you credit the CIA with as a more friendly, happy go-lucky agency than i do.

Thoug Trumps reaction is pathetic. I am in no way defending him. The narrative that russians interfered with the election helps to de-legitimise Trump and only serves those who want him out of power.

SantaClausowitz (360 D)

It do no such thing. If Trump would have accepted the conclusion this would be over already. There would still be protests based on his actions, but what made this news story isn't the hacking allegations, its trump's violent response against the intelligence community who said that they were. Trump made this into an adversarial issue because of his massive ego you are completely mischaracterizing how it went down, why? Because you are a contrarian, and that is what you do.
SantaClausowitz (360 D)

The joke of all of this is that Trump's true legitimacy was NEVER threatened by this leak. From the start the intelligence community made it clear that there was no tampering with the voting machines and that this does not call for a new election. This is also hardly grounds for impeachment. The CIA's revelations never threatened Trump's presidency, which for some reason you feel they did. That is what made his reaction all the more ridiculous.

Republicans in congress are also trying to fuck things up for people.

https://www.romper.com/p/how-would-the-personhood-bill-affect-ivf-it-hurts-couples-relying-on-medical-intervention-32739

While the media is mostly distracted by the Clown-in-Chief

@Santa, you don't think that Trump felt these allegation threatened his legitimacy?

He knows and plays the media game. So he saw this report as a threat.

But the original question was, did the CIA have any actual evidence for Russian hacking. What were their motives i releasing this information?

You can refocus the story on what a childish asshole Trump is all day (And there are ample examples of this, so you're not wrong) but the Seymour Hersh article is rather revealing.

There is more nuance here than i imained. I just read Hersh's investigation of the Bin Laden murder; which is really illuminating. How fucked things have been under functional US administrations.

Currently you're looking at gag orders on scientists and park rangers, who are resisting with private twitter accounts. The collective body that is federal government, all its agencies and employees, is at odds with itself.

Ora. Don't they have some constitutional way to dispose a president that is clearly unfit for the job?
orathaic (1009 D(B))

We'll see.

The electoral college is supposed to prevent an unfit president from being elected, but that ship has sailed... Only about two electors defected from Trump (while something like 4 defected from Clinton, making this the election with the highest ever number of unfaithful electors - but 6 is not enough)
Matticus13 (2844 D)

There are two methods for removing the Executive. One is impeachment, where the President is charged with a crime, the House (majority) and Senate vote
Matticus13 (2844 D)
26 Jan 17 UTC
*Senate (2/3 majority) vote to out the official. The second is the 25th Amendment, where the President's Cabinet declares him unfit.

The collective body that is federal government, all its agencies and employees, is at odds with itself. and that's how the framers wanted it to be. if the government is fighting with itself then they are leaving us alone. orathaic (1009 D(B))
27 Jan 17 UTC
@Ogion, thank you for your opinion.

It is possible that Assad didn't use chemical weapons. I may ask the UN, as this is literally the only thing i have any link to... But i don't know. Saying 'the US media lied about chemical weapons in Syria' doesn't automatically equate to being a russian stooge. It is possible that the US media lies to the public on a regular basis - like weapons of mass destruction in Iraq (which didn't exist)...

Also, Russia and the US disagree on which pipeline should be built in Syria, the Iranian backed one, or the Saudi backed one.

Whether the original 'arab spring'-style uprising in Syria was orchastrated by the US (and Saudis) or not doesn't prevent it from being true that the US wanted one pipeline and the Russians prefered another one. And the proxy war in which millions of Syrians died leaves a lot of blood to go around.

I don't give a fuck about a few hundred deaths by chemical weapons, when millions died and millions more fled their homes, because some cold war bullshit and regional powers can't agree to work together. Fuck you, and the horse you rode in on. The US is as bad, or worse than Russia, and if you can't see that (i may be drunk at this point and should apologise for the profanity...) more the brainwashing you been exposed to...

His last supply center is captured. He will be dead when Fall begins. However, he is in a position where he can capture one of my many supply centers. Will I lose that supply center in the Fall if he moves to that providence?
