Note: webDiplomacy doesn't seem to have a forum poll feature, but if you can give answers in the thread that's close enough - I can tally them by hand. Poll options in the other forum I asked the question were 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6+: that poll will close in a week and I'll tally results here then too.
I want to state emphatically that I am NOT interested in discussing this site's (or any other site's or tournament's) scoring, ranking, rating, or other numerical evaluation of game performance. This is merely by way of satisfying my own curiosity about what the community here feels about game results: what do you see when you're looking at another player's record (or your own)?
Consider two hypothetical players:
Player A plays some number of games, of which he solos one and loses the rest.
Player B plays the same number of games, and draws every one.
That is, after each plays 2 games A has 1 solo and 1 loss while B 2 two draws, after 10 games A would have 1 solo and 9 losses while B has 10 draws, etc.
After how many games played are the two players' accomplishments approximately equivalent? For the mathematically inclined, if s is the value of a solo win and d is the (average) value of a draw, for what number of games n is the equation dn = s true? (For the purposes of the question, assume they don't play each other but play exactly equivalent-difficulty opponents. Assume also that all of B's results are "good" draws: no early cop-outs)
