Scenario: 9 days from now when the "Clark is a skrub" live game begins.
everyone but you CDs, but you, being so valiant and gentlemanly, puts up the draw vote. When the CDs are adjudicated, Do you solo? or Draw?

Gunboat signals

Are there common signals in gunboat? For example, does a support move indicate "I want u to move there" while a support hold indicates "I want u to stay there" while an attempted movement indicates "I want u to support me there"???

Tea vs. Coffee

So I have decided that its really hard to choose between the two. I drink probably about 6 cups of coffee a day using Keurig. But then I also use herbal peach tea and scottish breakfast tea for when I get bored with the coffee. In all I likely drink about 12-15 cups of something hot and thought provoking a day.

The King is Dead!

Been awhile since we did one of these. Now that we have unraked games, it will be much easier to run one.

Basically, we take the game, and split up into 3 "teams":
The King and his Knights
The Rebels
The Traitor

Everyone knows who the King is, but no knows anyone else's role but their own.

We did a variant where the traitor knew all roles, but it proved to be a bit unfun.

We'll go for 7 for classic, but it could be adjusted for other map/player counts:

So the job of the Knights is to protect the king, the rebels to kill the king, and the traitor to act like a knight until the time is right?

Yeah, basically the Knights are protecting the king, the rebels are there to overthrow him, and the traitor wants to rule them all.

This is a great idea. I'd sign up if the turns were over 24 hours long.

(Has anyone ever played the card game "Bang!" ? It's basically this same team/competition format, though with a different mechanic for playing. Great for parties.)

Probably 36 or 48 hour phases. Negotiation and planning is a huge part of this SRG.

How are roles assigned?

Would a solo victory (18 SC's) count for the team, or does victory have to be total? (I.e., what if a king/knight gets 18 SCs, but two rebels and the traitor are still alive?)

Win conditions:
King/Knights: the rebels and traitor are eliminated and the king survives
Rebels: the king is dead
Traitor: the king is dead and your rise to power cannot be stopped (solo victory)

Down to try this, sounds like a lot of fun!
Though it seems like in practice its almost impossible to win as the traitor, but i'm sure the challenge will be a lot of fun!

fwiw, Bang! suggests that a good balance is this:

3 players: 1 Sheriff, 1 Renegade, 1 Outlaw
4 players: 1 Sheriff, 1 Renegade, 2 Outlaws
5 players: 1 Sheriff, 1 Renegade, 2 Outlaws, 1 Deputy
6 players: 1 Sheriff, 1 Renegade, 3 Outlaws, 1 Deputy
7 players: 1 Sheriff, 1 Renegade, 3 Outlaws, 2 Deputies

Does it transfer over well to diplomacy tho? Just seems like it's kind of a crapshoot, but I've never played before. It might make more sense to me to have less rebels, but the rebels know each other? This way it can let the rebels actually drop some hints that knights could pick up on? Otherwise it's everyone tries to help the king as far as I can see... But I'm eager to try either way!

The reformists look like they're going to win big, a coalition they've put together has already won all the Tehran seats in Majlis, and they've ousted a number of hardliners in the Assembly of Experts, with President Rouhani himself picking up a seat in that. Can you cut your own support?

Army A is moving to territory X. Army B sits in territory Y and supports move to territory X by Army A. Army C moves to territory Y at Army B. All three armies, A B and C are owned by the same country. Does Army B's support for Army's A move to territory X get cut?

If not, can anyone provide link to a live game example?
