Cutting a support move for your own unit

I'm sure you cannot cut support move for your own unit by hitting the unit that is supporting your other unit. However if another player is supporting the move of your unit would hitting the unit of the other player that is supporting yours cut the support for your own unit.

computer problems

my other computer has all of a sudden started to give me problems. It keeps saying 'cannot connect to proxy server'. this is the first time I have seen this. any help would be greatly appreciated!

A quick fix for accessing messages.

I posted a message before asking how to access older PMs and got the answer that there isn't a direct link. However, unless I misunderstand something http://webdiplomacy.net/index.php?notices=on points to your notices page. Bookmark that and viola! (Right?)

i agree with ATC, the experience give a little insight as to how others see the board, unlike SoW, where your trying to teach, this game is better suited for seasoned players, who are interested in sharing thought and strategy with someone else

@abge, if this runs again, i would recommend shortening the names and passwords for the benefit of people who log on via phones and such... logistically easier

I would be interested in the second game btw (if there is enough interest to start a second one). Would we want to wait for the first game to end?? I am cool with that, as I already have quite a few games that I am joined in.

I think I'm going to wait until this game is over, so I don't have to keep track of 14 accounts.

I will not be remaking the names and passwords, though. Even on a phone, it is very easy to save different accounts, either by using a 2nd browser or by just having the Dummy name come up in the drop-down menu.

If we reuse the accounts, an interesting side effect will be that the press written by the two previous players (and anyone they talked to) will be available to the next two holders of the account.

I'm actually really disappointed with this game - the three largest players are the only players who have checked the game with any regularity (and there's plenty of play left for the players who aren't checking the game- especially Russia).

I had thought that with two players per side, we'd have MORE game checking, and more press.

I personally don't think it's going to be very interesting to keep playing if we're still missing players.

i agree, this is also a reflection on the current CD rate of this site....RR will not cure this problem, learning respect for the game win or lose will help

I think for the most part, this game was quite insightful....I learned a tremendous amount from my partner, Hamilton Brian, things that I some times take for granted and different courses of strategy. I hope the Admin and Program teams find a way to implement this type game in the regular accounts...this was a lot of fun....thank you to everyone who played, and I hope we can at least try another one

Is it okay to ask for help from outside a game?

I would really appreciate some outside help with games I'm playing, kind of like tutoring, and I don't want to ask for help if you feel that it's unfair or whatever. I'm new around here, but enjoying the experience. I haven't played in -cough, cough- years and am glad I found this place. Thanks.

Oh noes...the AIDS Researchers...

Just listened to Obama blathering about the AIDS researchers on the Malaysian flight. Oh noes...the AIDS researchers....suddenly this flight is more important than others, because of the AIDS researchers...
