If I can clearly see my veins...
Would that suggest/mean a high blood pressure? If so, does that mean that if I can temporarily see my veins, I temporarily have a high blood pressure?

I might be closing in on something I've been trying to figure out for quite a while here, so I'm just checking seemingly obvious stuff as well to be thorough.

It means you're ripped brah
steephie22 (182 D(S))
02 May 14 UTC
Well, I was out a lot the past week so if that ever wouldn't make sense it would be now I suppose.
Good thinking though.
steephie22 (182 D(S))
02 May 14 UTC
@SYnapse: I suppose one could argue that I'm ripped, but it's pretty borderline...

Anyway, I understand that being ripped would mean you see your veins sooner but I know pretty certain that that's not the whole explanation in my case.

Other than that you may or may not be trolling and I genuinely don't care which, just checking off options and you're helping wether you like it or not :)
steephie22 (182 D(S))
02 May 14 UTC
Right now I think gravity might be the other part of the explanation. If I move my arms down I quickly see the veins getting wider again.
So now I suppose the only question is: is that normal? Should gravity be able to influence my blood flow that much?
1) you've worked out a lot
2) you're dehydrated to some extent
NigeeBaby (100 D(G))

What is your % body fat?
steephie22 (182 D(S))
02 May 14 UTC
@PE: is that 2 options or is your conclusion that both of those things are going on?

@NigeeBaby: is there an easy way to find that out? I can tell you from a look in the mirror that it's pretty low. I have never heard my practitioner or anyone else say I'm too thin or something though (although my muscles might hide any lack of fat a bit, but I'm not THAT muscled...), so I guess I'm (borderline) good in that aspect. I'm definitely not trying to lose weight at all, although I am working on my condition and getting stronger/faster and those kinds of things, although I wouldn't do it if it wasn't fun; I love to run through the forest with my dog, a couple of times a day now because I'm having a holiday and just really enjoy it. I just try to eat more to compensate for the training.
I recently had a blood test and my practitioner said everything tested is pretty much perfect, but I don't know if that's relevant, and if that tells much about body fat.
two options, you should be in a position to decide which is more accurate
steephie22 (182 D(S))
02 May 14 UTC
Well, I don't have a clue what's "a lot" and I don't have a clue what's "to some extent"...

That said, the first time I really noticed it was before the holiday, so before I ran through the forest a couple of times a day. So I suppose dehydration would then be the choice I'd go with...

Hypochondriac is my diagnosis, given this and other posts...
steephie22 (182 D(S))
02 May 14 UTC
That's very shortsighted, krellin, and here's why.

Following your logic you have Tourette syndrome.

I'm not worried. I'm interested and looking to improve. It's hard to explain online you aren't worried, but trust me, if I'm worried I don't go to webdip.

I'm just researching from the very basics.
Wondering why an apple falls, if you will. I noticed something that I can't conclusively explain myself yet so I work on explaining it. At the same time I wonder if it's a common thing or not.
mendax (321 D)

Steephie - my veins are also extremely obvious, but I'm pretty sure in my case it's because I'm exceptionally pale. I don't know exactly when I first noticed this, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't a thing when I was very young.
krellin (80 DX)

Steephi - no, following my logic I do not have tourette's syndrome. Following my logic I am an "Internet Troll". And...hey...guess what, ON WEBDIP I AM! You, apparently, have no idea what Tourette's syndrome is.

Anyway, you apparently are not close to other human beings, many of whom has visible veins. Further, I guess you don't really know how to use google. That you occassionally bring up things like..."I can see my veins, am I dying?!!?" types of questions, I would say that your tendency towards the dramatic and assuming **NORMAL** things might be medical issues leads one to easily believe that you are a bit of a hypochondriac.

If you are wondering "why the apple falls" and seriously asking us that question, then you have issues my boy. I suspect that you are just trying to impess people with your psuedo-intellectualism, then...gee, look at how inquisitive Steephie is! Impressive!

There are quetions worth asking, and then there are question not worth asking, and worthy of mockery. I'll let you guess where your questions regarding veins and apples fall...

I wouldn't have thought that a long period of aging was particularly relevant to steephie's case.
steephie22 (182 D(S))
02 May 14 UTC
@mendax: in my case I can feel them as well, so it's not just skin colour.

@krellin: I meant the symptom Coprolalia, to be clear. Not like it matters. My point was that, like you, I'm quite different IRL. As a rule, I don't worry. Things happen or they don't.

The human beings I am close to tend to not have visible veins. I can't think of anyone around my age who does, and the only real example that comes to mind is an old sick man, so that's not exactly a reason to assume it's normal/healthy either.

So that's why I noticed it. Not worried at all, but I noticed it. Some time later I posted on webdip. I didn't google yet. Why not, you might ask? Because posting it on webdip gives me the best 'experience', and because I can always google answers, but on webdip I have to wait, so I consider it more efficient to first post here and google after that to have an increased chance at finding a quick solution.

Webdip's answers are often quite unique as well, and since I always try to look at things from new/unique perspectives, that's useful to me. In general, it just works better for me to post here. With the mute options, it can't really harm you if you don't want it to so there's no point worrying about that.

And it's quite fun that you managed to not answer my question after all, posting an irrelevant link to show me how easy it is to find something, at which you clearly failed.

And indeed, this isn't a matter of aging as mendax pointed out, and I don't smoke :)

@YJ: Now we're talking! Wooh!
@y2kjbk: I already spend more time thinking about my life obligations and loved ones. That's the part that clearly doesn't come across. Oh well, don't care.
@jmo: Are you aware of the junk that is posted all over the forum?
@ssorenn: Working on that angle. Luckily krellin seems interested, in case it doesn't work out with the girls...

@all, for those actually worried (yeah right): I think a lot about everything I can think of, because I enjoy it. Because it keeps me disciplined; I truly think that I can only be as disciplined as I am while still being happy in life because I let my thoughts go wild.

now thats funny lol
steephie22 (182 D(S))
02 May 14 UTC
My point: I might think more about my condition than your average person, but it's a subject that is rather falling behind all kinds of stuff that's much less important in terms of how much I think about it. I have absolutely no problem with that, but if there's one thing that I don't overthink compared to other things, that's probably my health.

I know that probably won't change anyone's mind, but I don't care.
