I don't think it is possible to measure the speed of thought. But we do have a measure for the speed of light so I think thought is faster.

No. Thoughts are pretty damned slow. They rely on intercellular signalling with movement of neurotransmitters across mulitple synapses by diffusion. By comparison to the speed of light, thoughts are positively glacial.

The "speed of light" is better thought of as the "maximum speed of causation" which is a pretty hard and fast limit

@ Ogion You are near what I am trying to figure, I know we can get a gist on measuring chemical synaps impulses and electical signals .But is that a simple measure of cuasative effect of thought or creation of the thought.

IE speed of light is the fastest measure in our observable universe .

but is thought an abstract that resides outside of that which is why we as structures in and of the universe can think of abstats like why does it all exist.

no I dont want to discuss the why.. but is it possible that thought exists then becomes measurable in synaptic and phsiological responses . If so how is that proved or disproved.

A more accurate and relevant term may be "nerve conduction velocity".

Thought cannot be faster than light. Your thoughts travel over neurons in the brain. Which are basically very small electrical pulses. The problem is that these pulses happen in a medium that is much much slower than in a vacuum. There's stuff in the way that makes it slower than if the signal was traveling in empty space. So with that in mind, our thoughts, our actions, are much slower than the speed of light.

Are we simply then oberving the physical manifasetation of thought in the universe. Ie the execution of thought. there is no way to measure when the thought originated. Like measuring the future we cant actually properly measure anything until it has happened.
