Is this game getting less popular?
I remember using this site years ago and I felt I could always find games to join, or if I made a game it would fill up in a couple of days at most.

Is there another site that people are using to play? It still seems like this one is the best at least from my quick google.

Must See Movie Reccomendations
So I like movies a lot and one of my goals in life is to watch every movie that is worth watching. I've seen most of AFIs top 100 and I have a to-watch list that is 168 films and counting. As such, I was curious if anyone here has some must-see movies that I may not know about.

Music major?
I've considered pursuing a music major.. is the outcome worth the cost? It seems like the stereotype for music majors is that there's no real future.
What ARE the possibilities?

The Arab Spring was a horrible failure
Can you name any countries that benefitted from the Arab Spring? Libya is literally a slave-state, Egyptians overthrew one leader only to overthrow the next, Iranian arab spring failed, Syria is a bloodbath. Is there a single positive that came from this movement?

And, that's what happens when you aren't 18 and have never left Nebraska. After a while, you get some life experience.

I have it on good authority that Oggy holds the title of Emeritus Professor of Ignorance at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, so he knows what he's talking about.

Ogion is pretty much the Kansasboyd for the left wingers on this forum lol. (Cheering on the suffering in the south when the hurricane hit it, always lecturing about how good of a person he is, etc.) For the most part it's best not to engage unless he's saying especially silly things.
Ogion (4378 D)
29 Nov 17 UTC
Except for the fact that neither is actually, you know, true, you might have a point.

And being on the left means that I have these things called "facts" and "reason" to trot out.
Ogion (4378 D)

Great. Maybe you can become Rohingya or something and head to Myanmar and figure out how great it is.

I will always take a principled stand that war accomplishes next to nothing even when done as a coalition.

Real talk though Og.

How do you plan to sail around the world like Russell Crowe fighting everyone and also reduce military spending.

brainbomb (474 D)
29 Nov 17 UTC
In 2012 election cycle the Republican party couldve gone to Ron Paul who was an anti-interventionist, he wasnt big on military spending, he didnt think Israel was a good ally to associate ourselves with, his solution on ISIS was let the rest if the world deal with it for once
brainbomb (474 D)

Unfortunately he was old, decrepit, a lunatic, and was completely unelectable as his appeal was mostly fringe wackos who dont even vote they just drive around with his bumper stickers.

He had many good ideas.

And some abysmal ones. Like ending the board of education and eliminating the feder reserve lol

I just remember him standing on the stage with romney, and santorum and gingrich. Ron paul starts talking about cutting military spending and the crowd began booing him

Ogion, Yeah, I think everyone who read the hurricane thread knows whether it's true :/
I'd rip into you about how your partisan ideologue type mindset is the reason internal tensions are at an all time high, but you probably don't care because you're safe in your university Californian bubble where it doesn't affect you much.

BUT, people have been telling me they want this to be a forum where we respect all people so I'll hold myself in and just mute you so I don't make this place overly negative by constantly engaging with you. Have a good life.

Also yes brainbomb! I was cheering for Ron Paul! The establishment totally destroyed him though. If I was actually an American citizen I may have been more concerned but his foreign policy was great and since I'm a foreigner that was good enough for me :P.

Ron Paul drew boos from audience members over a variety of positions. Including his stance on pot legalization. I admired hos effort. He really didnt belong on that stage. The libertarian party should move left on a number of issues and theyll crush the other parties.

If libertarians embraced gay marriage, pot legalization, open borders, cutting military spending and a strong position on socialized single payer healthcare the libertarians would win in every blue state

Libertarian candidates draw boos for supporting state-issued driver's licenses lol.

I doubt you'll see them supporting single payer healthcare anytime soon.

(Although they certainly support gay marriage and pot legalization.)

Iwell for those who are less reading comprehension challenged I said that those who had active sought to block climate change action deserved a solid second look at getting hurricane relief since they'd caused the problem. That's not "the south". As many many people pointed out.

And yeah, I am sure the racism and sexism have NOTHING to do with the tension in country Gotta love how conservatives get upset when people call them on their shit. Here is a clue, Flum: it is the racism, sexism and conservative hate that caused the division here. Without that, there is no real problem. Stop hurting other people, and watch how your victims stop being angry at you.

And war accomplished nothing? So, stoping ethnic cleasining is nothing? Your stand is principled but totally in conflict with the facts.

As for the budget. We don't need twice as much military and the rest of the world combined to do something worthwhile. Nearly the entire military budget is waste

Yeah, clowns like you call everyone you disagree with a racist and then declare that the problem is racist people. I guess if no one ever disagreed with you, you would feel no tension in your country.

The sad part is that in its own depraved way, I could at least respect petty tyrants like you, if you were open about your real desires. If you just outright stated that you wanted America to turn into Ogion's Empire, where you and you alone set the rules and anyone who disagreed was to be marched to the gulag, I could say you were being internally consistent and just needed to be crushed. But you're too weak to even do that. Sad.

Ogion I really hope you dont think ive ever left Nebraska. Ive been to London. Im not some country bumpkin who can't read. I know about plenty if the humanitarian crisis' in the world. But you have to be rational and think about interventionism as costly, dangerous, and an overall subjective practice.

Theres so many things you could correct. So many issues that America doesnt need to be in the forefront on. I dont believe that we needed to intervene in most of the wars of the past 200 years.

Its an addiction by both political parties and in my perspective, is the biggest knock on the credibility of my own political persuasion.

Why even listen to a lawyer who's profession brings suits only to collect half the award and suffer none of the pain. Three men fell into shark infested waters but only the lawyer survived. Why? Professional courtesy.

Why no love for Sum of Squares scoring?
Personally, I'm not a big fan of Draw Size scoring, because it rewards the power that hung on with one dot the same as the 17 SC power that was a hair away from the solo.

What I've noticed is that almost every new game is Draw Size Scoring. Is that just because it's the default option or are players here just not fond of it.

Can you name any characters that benefited from the Paris Uprising of 1832? Éponine is literally and figuratively heartbroken, Jean Valjean overcame Javert only to die of old age in the next bloody act. Is there a single positive that came from this musical?

Who Are The Real Dinosaurs In Congress?
Republicans do a better job of promoting younger members, in part because they limit, to six years, the length of time a member can be chairman or chairwoman of a committee. Democrats do not impose term limits on committee leaders or so-called ranking members, the top slot for lawmakers who are in the minority.
