Is this game getting less popular?
I remember using this site years ago and I felt I could always find games to join, or if I made a game it would fill up in a couple of days at most.

Is there another site that people are using to play? It still seems like this one is the best at least from my quick google.

Must See Movie Reccomendations
So I like movies a lot and one of my goals in life is to watch every movie that is worth watching. I've seen most of AFIs top 100 and I have a to-watch list that is 168 films and counting. As such, I was curious if anyone here has some must-see movies that I may not know about.

Music major?
I've considered pursuing a music major.. is the outcome worth the cost? It seems like the stereotype for music majors is that there's no real future.
What ARE the possibilities?

I used to get my news exclusively from Webdip. Not even kidding. But y'all have been letting me down lately.

So I've started reading CBC articles again and news from the r/Canada & r/Canadapolitics subreddits. As well as big news as it filters down into some of the less political/topical subreddits.
I check reddit's /r/worldnews and Drudge Report for news. I find news aggregators like those two sources to be much better than leaning on news organizations. I only watch cable news networks if I expect the anchors to go into damage control meltdown mode over some happening to get a good laugh (examples: FOX during Election Night 2012, CNN/MSNBC during Election Night 2016), or occasionally I tune into Tucker Carlson or Hannity on FOX if they have an interesting guest. I find that regardless of bend, they're pretty terrible at reporting news I find important -- so many irrelevant headlines and when the stories do matter, the facts are so skewed.

As for why /r/worldnews and Drudge, /r/worldnews is center-left to left and Drudge is right, so I get a basic sense of what people are saying about particular issues and can get an idea as to whether some particular news item is left or right echo chamber nonsense vs something that's actually important to me. I also troll /pol/ and r/The_Donald for entertainment.

I don't read any newspapers, except occasionally the local paper's sports section when it's freely available and I need to kill a minute.

Currently I am reading Nietzsche's "Thus Spoke Zarathustra" and am trying to get back into the swing of reading philosophical works. One of my favorites that I finished in the last couple of months was Marcus Aurelius's "Meditations." I have great reverence for the Western religious and philosophical tradition and aspire to be well-versed in as much of it as I can be.

+1 on webdip, I remember using it as my primary aggregator a few years ago. We lost too many people that used to be active in political discussions and be good posters to be able to keep doing that though.

The decline in the utility of the forum for aggregating news & as a filter to keep out the unimportant/uninteresting stuff is definitely down due to the loss of a lot of great contributors. The loss of the forum as a free speech zone is in my opinion a contributing factor to that.

However, I think the utility of the forum as a news aggregator is only going to decline further once we transition to the new PHB forum. I wouldn't be shocked to see activity on the new forum decline dramatically.

I also like to check out Vice News from time to time they have interesting specials. Particularly when it comes to food culture. They do good articles on food stuff.

Twitter is also okay. From following Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin I learned that the Speaker of the Oklahoma House of Representatives, Charles McCall, left the country on Friday, the same day she vetoed most of a bill that proposed massive budget cuts.

I wondered who it was who still read the Morning Star these days. I was afraid they'd lost their entire circulation to The Canary.

I tend to watch/listen to the BBC, browse the online copies of the Guardian and Telegraph, and pick up the occasional paper when it comes free with a bottle of water.

Octavious, I am not familiar with "The Canary" but based on your hysterical description,  I had to go see it.

They, at "The Canary," apparently beg to differ.  It says right on their website: "Fresh, Fearless Independent Journalism | The Canary."  Sounds grand!!!  Fearless!!   Wow!   Probably fair AND balanced too

The Arab Spring was a horrible failure
Can you name any countries that benefitted from the Arab Spring? Libya is literally a slave-state, Egyptians overthrew one leader only to overthrow the next, Iranian arab spring failed, Syria is a bloodbath. Is there a single positive that came from this movement?

Why no love for Sum of Squares scoring?
Personally, I'm not a big fan of Draw Size scoring, because it rewards the power that hung on with one dot the same as the 17 SC power that was a hair away from the solo.

What I've noticed is that almost every new game is Draw Size Scoring. Is that just because it's the default option or are players here just not fond of it.

The Paris Uprising of 1832 was a horrible failure
Can you name any characters that benefited from the Paris Uprising of 1832? Éponine is literally and figuratively heartbroken, Jean Valjean overcame Javert only to die of old age in the next bloody act. Is there a single positive that came from this musical?

Who Are The Real Dinosaurs In Congress?
Republicans do a better job of promoting younger members, in part because they limit, to six years, the length of time a member can be chairman or chairwoman of a committee. Democrats do not impose term limits on committee leaders or so-called ranking members, the top slot for lawmakers who are in the minority.
