Mine is my sister Angela.

She is ten years older than me, a mother of two. I have been her roomate twice. She has an MBA in Business from Washington University, shes a liscensed dietician, and shes finishing a degree in Healthcare Administration.

She was always someone ive looked up to. She has taken me in when I was in Graduate school and as a faculty member at Missouri State.

As far as people we couldnt be more different. She is a staunxh Republican and voted for Trump. Shes a gun owner, has an AR-15 and goes shooting in semi-professional competitions. She goes to church, obviously I dont. But when it comes to integrity, honesty, and decency, there is just no one who I could ever respect more.

My sister is my hero, and I dont want to be her, I dont want her life and I dont agree with her politically, but I respect how she lives. I have directly improved my life because of her.

We are half siblings. We come from a very diverse family in which my brothers are musicians who have a different dad, I am my dads only child, Angela never knew her dad until she was in her mid 30's and my other sister Ronda is Native American and adopted.

As you can tell, I am inspired very much by diversity.

This is alot more than most people share on here but I just wanna emphasize that women are amazing and essential to life, shaping who you are and who you become, the politics has zero to do with it at some point.

I generally just love my whole family but my sister especially makes me wanna be a great person, strong and successful. So thats kinda what I hope people make this thread into is a big story of who their female heroes are.

I used to masturbate everyday. But I don't do it after I love she. I hate mastrubation. Today, I love her and I never imagine sex. I only want to be with her. But unfortunately, it's impossible. I can't say why but it's impossible to marry with her. But we always talk. She made me better I think because of the first sentence.

My mother gave up her career in her father's electric company to raise me and my younger brother.
Sometimes I wonder what could have been for her if she hadn't, but if she ever wonders the same thing, you would never know it from how she acts.
I aspire to the selflessness that could cause somebody to lay down her life's work to that point in order to raise another person up, and to be abundantly happy for having done so. I doubt I will ever match it in such a personal way, but I will find my own path to live out that kind of sacrifice for my family and my country.

I am also coming around to the idea that a particular ex of mine made a positive impact on me as well. We had a long relationship, and I almost asked her to marry me at one point, which would have been a complete disaster had it happened. Things ended very acrimoniously, but as I've gotten older I've started to appreciate aesthetics, the arts, and a sense of spirituality and connection with a higher order of existence that I would have laughed off just a couple years ago, and I know that those seeds which are starting to sprout were sowed by her. It's too bad we couldn't have crossed paths at a later point in life.

You have a wonderful sister brainbomb, treasure her.

Ghug is your inspirational female?
MajorMitchell (1600 D)
19 Nov 17 UTC
Well Ghug is quite inspirational. Just wanted to have that box ticked just in case Ghug announces her femininity..one never knows in this modern, brave new world & I wouldn't want to upset Ghug by making him/her think I had overlooked him/her.
MajorMitchell (1600 D)
19 Nov 17 UTC
Your not envious because I mentioned Ghug and didn't mention you Octavious ?
Octavious (2802 D)
19 Nov 17 UTC
I think I can just about survive the disappointment.

I'm curious about Mumsie Theresa, though. Most of what I've heard about her as an actual person has been extremely negative, although no doubt the legend has provided a great deal of real inspiration and improved the lives of countless thousands. If the reality of her life was somewhat less positive, does that even matter?
MajorMitchell (1600 D)
19 Nov 17 UTC
Well I never met Mother Theresa, and I bet I would have disagreed with her on various issues, so I was going on her public image for charitable work.
In truth I was more serious about Hypatia & Madame Curie.
As for nominating Ghug, I might have been joshing about, but it does create a precedent, just in case anyone else wanted to nominate me....hint hint.
MajorMitchell (1600 D)
19 Nov 17 UTC
The thread has a long way to go, so all hope for your possible nomination is not lost Octavious.
MajorMitchell (1600 D)

Just thought that thought might offer you comfort & hope.

Major, I have no such illusions. If the webDip community had seen my portrayal of Ophelia in 3rd year English things might be different, but alas.

I dare say it is common to almost all of us that the women who have had the biggest impact on our lives are close family and friends. International celebrities, no matter how great or good, are surely a distant second.
MajorMitchell (1600 D)
19 Nov 17 UTC
He's you are right. I was waiting on a game & being a bit flippant. Some might say that in my case they are delusions, not illusions.
You got to play Orphelia & I got to play Lady Bracknell as juvenile.actors...those long ago halcyon days.

I'd have to say that the woman I look up to the most is Shelob. Her sheer determination to eat hobbits and consume all that is good is really impressive in my humble opinion.

Mansplaining and manscaping
I heard people use the term mansplaining recently. It was negatively stigmatized but what does it even mean? Also I head people saying something about manscaping and I wondered if that was a type of yard work. Any input is appreciated.

Spring 1901 NMR
What provisions are there in general for dealing with players who NMR on the first turn? Should we simply agree on a draw and try and rebuild the game with new players? Is there a way to bring in replacements?

New York is the best.
Now that I've gotten everybody's attention, would anybody be interested in playing a game of American Empire where everybody plays as the region that they are from? I think that might be kinda fun and could be a way to release some of this clearly geographical tension that is brewing in the forums.
I'd have to claim NY
