The Lion King is a statement about socialism
My gripe with the Lion King is that Scar is the hero. He overthrows a fucked up bourgoise and saves thousands of Hyenas living in poverty. After Simba flees Scar is totally written as converting the kingdom into a starving military dictatorship. This is absolutely a false representation of the amazing Utopia he envisioned. He said be prepared. I was ready. Why didnt his socialist revolution succeed?

Catalonia Referendum
Catalonia intended to hold a referendum on independence from Spain. The Spanish high court ruled it would be illegal. Catalonia decided to hold it anyway, and police are attacking people intending to cast votes.

Methylated spirits are quite useful, I regularly use them when pruning. Applying them to a clean rag and wiping down the cutting blades of secatuers, loppers & pruning saws so that plant diseases are not transferred in sap residue on the blades from one plant to another. Rather odd of you, Dipbro Brainbomb to start a thread about methylated spirits, but then you are delightfully eccentric.

Moth: Invented or Discovered

.....by Godzilla - aka Mothra on Meth doing Math
I think Major is on to something, and I defer to Jerome K. Jerome for further insight on the point:

George said: “Begin with breakfast.” (George is so practical.) “Now for breakfast we shall want a frying-pan”—(Harris said it was indigestible; but we merely urged him not to be an ass, and George went on)—“a tea-pot and a kettle, and a methylated spirit stove.”

“No oil,” said George, with a significant look; and Harris and I agreed.

We had taken up an oil-stove once, but “never again.” It had been like living in an oil-shop that week. ... At the end of that trip we met together at midnight in a lonely field, under a blasted oak, and took an awful oath (we had been swearing for a whole week about the thing in an ordinary, middle-class way, but this was a swell affair)—an awful oath never to take paraffine oil with us in a boat again-except, of course, in case of sickness.

Therefore, in the present instance, we confined ourselves to methylated spirit. Even that is bad enough. You get methylated pie and methylated cake. But methylated spirit is more wholesome when taken into the system in large quantities than paraffine oil.

Thanks Outside Smoker. The philosophical profundity of Jerome K Jerome is far too often unrecognised and misunderstood. The literati types rattle on about chaps like Tolstoy, Voltaire or Joyce, & women like Austen... (please excuse interruption )..
MajorMitchell (1600 D)
24 Oct 17 UTC
Continuing. the "literati" types love the great writers, but does a chap need the complexities of a Dostoevsky or Joyce et al when writers like Jerome lay it ( the human condition & experience ) out in beautiful simplicity ? For example, another writer of the approximate same time, PG Wodehouse provides via his sagacious character Jeeves all the guidance and wisdom on all the essential questions of life that a chap requires.

Methamphetamine[note 1] (contracted from N-methylamphetamine) is a strong central nervous system (CNS) stimulant that is mainly used as a recreational drug and less commonly as a second-line treatment for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and obesity.[17] Methamphetamine was discovered in 1893 and exists as two enantiomers: levo-methamphetamine and dextro-methamphetamine.[note 2] Methamphetamine properly refers to a specific chemical, the racemic free base, which is an equal mixture of levomethamphetamine and dextromethamphetamine in their pure amine forms. It is rarely prescribed due to concerns involving human neurotoxicity and potential for recreational use as an aphrodisiac and euphoriant, among other concerns, as well as the availability of safer substitute drugs with comparable treatment efficacy. Dextromethamphetamine is a much stronger CNS stimulant than levomethamphetamine.

Both methamphetamine and dextromethamphetamine are illicitly trafficked and sold owing to their potential for recreational use. The highest prevalence of illegal methamphetamine use occurs in parts of Asia, Oceania, and in the United States, where racemic methamphetamine, levomethamphetamine, and dextromethamphetamine are classified as schedule II controlled substances. Levomethamphetamine is available as an over-the-counter (OTC) drug for use as an inhaled nasal decongestant in the United States.[note 3] Internationally, the production, distribution, sale, and possession of methamphetamine is restricted or banned in many countries, due to its placement in schedule II of the United Nations Convention on Psychotropic Substances treaty. While dextromethamphetamine is a more potent drug, racemic methamphetamine is sometimes illicitly produced due to the relative ease of synthesis and limited availability of chemical precursors.

In low doses, methamphetamine can elevate mood, increase alertness, concentration and energy in fatigued individuals, reduce appetite, and promote weight loss. At higher doses, it can induce psychosis, breakdown of skeletal muscle, seizures and bleeding in the brain. Chronic high-dose use can precipitate unpredictable and rapid mood swings, stimulant psychosis (e.g., paranoia, hallucinations, delirium, and delusions) and violent behavior. Recreationally, methamphetamine's ability to increase energy has been reported to lift mood and increase sexual desire to such an extent that users are able to engage in sexual activity continuously for several days.[20] Methamphetamine is known to possess a high addiction liability (i.e., a high likelihood that long-term or high dose use will lead to compulsive drug use) and high dependence liability (i.e. a high likelihood that withdrawal symptoms will occur when methamphetamine use ceases). Heavy recreational use of methamphetamine may lead to a post-acute-withdrawal syndrome, which can persist for months beyond the typical withdrawal period. Unlike amphetamine, methamphetamine is neurotoxic to human midbrain dopaminergic neurons.[21] It has also been shown to damage serotonin neurons in the CNS.[22][23] This damage includes adverse changes in brain structure and function, such as reductions in grey matter volume in several brain regions and adverse changes in markers of metabolic integrity.[23]

Methamphetamine belongs to the substituted phenethylamine and substituted amphetamine chemical classes. It is related to the other dimethylphenethylamines as a positional isomer of these compounds, which share the common chemical formula: C10H15N1.

Also. Apparently it's medically used. I was not aware. Methamphetamine hydrochloride was approved by the FDA to to treat obesity and ADHD. It's also sometimes prescribed off label for narcolepsy and idiopathic hypersomnia.

Does this answer the question? No.. but it raises others.

The medical garde medication a was discovered. The recreational use was invented. Meth or Ice in westrn australia is a big social, legal, and health issue. Having attended a few training sessions in my work in mental health I can say it can be a very quick addiction and cause long term irreparable damage to the structures of the brain.
One ssession I attended had presentations by ex users . One said he used when younger got clean then became a journalist. Severla years later he did a story on current meth use , embedded himself in a meth house got re addicted and was " gone for a further 2 years". So knowing full well the risks he became addicte again despite himself.

One person said it is like the best orgasm you have ever had but the sceince says the release of feel good hormones for orgasm is 400..then one point 1/10th of a gram is 1000. and lasts for hours .

So my advice dont even " play " with it ..it was invented to hook you and make money for people who dont care about you , your family , your kids , the people you love , they dont give a shit if you live or die.

"Here's exactly why you should recreationally use meth, it's really great and gives you the feed good hormones of an orgasm, but like three times better and it lasts for hours on end.
But don't do it, because it's bad."

Jiggling keys ehhh?
Smokey Gem (154 D)

Ahhhhh. yes ggut the massively exessive production wears out the recpetors so that more and more is needed . And " coming off " is very hard as the person feels nothing no joy in their childs smile , no orgasm with there partner, often sevre psychosis. And irreperable aquired brain injury. The actual strucures are destroyed . like a leg thats been amputated it dosnt " grow back ".

So if your jiggling your keys. kiss goodbye to your way of life .

Rabbits was cursed ever since they was stolen from the Native Americans. All the 'white' and 'brown' and 'black' and 'asian' rabbits (and any other non-native folks) should pack up and leave the pet cemetary to join Colonel von Brad in a potato peeling adventure. Who wants to be the rear admiral?
