There are a few that play FTF. I don't know why more don't play. A good looking woman, with a modicum of tactical skill, could kick ass with the crowd of dweebs that play FTF.

I think that one cause of the lack of female players - and there have been a few 'famous' ladies over the years - is the basic premise of the game. Too often Dip is described as a war game when in reality it is a negotiation game.

Women are generally more astute than men in a ftf situation so should pick up on all those non-verbal cues that are present (apparently). The difficulty is in getting them to play in the first instance. They see the board, fleets and armies and think that it's 'just another boring war simulation'.

If you know a girl who enjoys cosplay, D&D or things like themed dinner parties, they'd probably love ftf Dip.

As a player who goes to the occasional FtF event, there are indeed some female players currently on the circuit. Off-hand, I know of two that travel regularly and a third that has been to a couple of events.
