Can we get 901 back?
Is it possible to get known world 901 variant back? with or without fixing bugs? It seems enough people like it.

Phantasmagoria?
I'm a little confused as to how you would use the word phantasmagorical/phantasmagoria/etc. I understand the words meaning, but would it be used as a negative connotation or positive connotation?

I've been unable to find or create any new 901 variant games for a while now. It's still listed as active though! Anyone else have this issue?

US Election and Aftermath
I did this with my Asia Pacific thread. Let's see if a reasonable discussion on the possible outcome of this election could be. (Articles and counterpoints are more than welcome)

Let's Keep It Real
Conservatives- Resistant to change, confident in the status quo.
Liberals- Supportive of change, dissatisfied with the status quo.
If we stopped attacking each other for a few minutes these traits could be complimentary.

Conservatives: change = existential panic. Others: change = necessary productive though sometimes unsettling universal process.
ishirkmywork (1401 D)

I agree that a combo of these two things bring about balance. Most decisions I've made in life vacillate between panic and acceptance of change.

Really now. When Trump was elected President (which is change however you look at it), I don't recall liberals being very calm.

In fact, more than 80% of people who chose change as the top reason they voted for a presidential candidate chose Donald Trump.

who said anything about being calm? understanding that things change as we as our civilization grows and understands more about ourselves the world and universe doesn't mean we can't be worried about installing a ignoramus with dictatorial ambitions at the head of a democracy.
CommanderByron (801 D(S))

Leon- while in a 2D sense voting trump was voting for change. As he would be a new president with new ideas. His ideas are very much grounded in the foundation of conservatism. The anti-gay, anti-socialist, pro-business, religious base which has held control of the US for most of its history. The Dems represented greater change; gay rights, free school, business restrictions, and desperation of church and state. (This isn't to say I personally agree with either) just its reality that conservatism is a belief grounded in security and sameness. Which isn't in its whole a bad thing.

conservatism has gone under some big changes under Bush and Obama, it's really been a turbulent time for the right
CommanderByron (801 D(S))
23 Jan 17 UTC
I would say if conservatives used their beliefs to help ground the work of change done by dems our government would work efficiently as with each new idea a high level of inspection and testing would ensue, not to devalue the idea but to help make sure it was its best possible self prior to being enacted. If republicans had worked with Obamacare to build the ACA it may not be as terrible as it is. Dems approached it from a entirely change driven angle. A little bit of grounding could have helped. I just hope that the next 2 years has us all working together for once. Having adult conversations that don't spiral into vulgar obscenities and counter- productive rhetoric .
Matticus13 (2844 D)

That would be great CommanderByron, but I'm not optimistic. The Commander and Chief constantly throws everyone who disagrees under the nearest bus via Twitter. This reflects the action of a man who values pride over seeking adult conversations.
JamesYanik (548 D)

@CB

one of the main problems with the ACA is he pushed it through with the supermajority, and didn't even BOTHER with Republicans. Then when he wanted to expand it in states (which after a few years, the states would have to pick up the tab) the Republicans rightfully said this isn't good economics!

they didn't want massive government spending after a recession, and i think that's fair. If you want socialized healthcare, you could at least wait until the economy is not in shambles to consider it.

This is why i'm worried about the GOP in the house, senate AND presidency. they don't have a supermajority, but it's a LOT of power

To be more relevant to OP, I think the definitions you use are very purist, but stray pretty well when applied in certain way. In societies with regular elections, everyone is pretty much liberal the way you define it.

I think I just figured it out. Conservatives are just fucking socially awkward. That's the only reason you could possibly not figure out that privilege is a thing.

after only 4 hours, #alternativefacts is already being overused, just beating out the previous record held by #fakenews.

we fully expect to endure this for the next few days, until it to dies, or develops into something else (such as #bullshitnews)
