NEW ENGLAND PLAYER WANTED FOR WWI TEAM GAME!
England has gone into civil disorder so we need a new English player. This is a team game where the allies (Britain, France and Russia) fight the axis (Germany, Austria and Turkey).. England has missed a couple of phases but is still in a good position. The game ID is 179879. It is called "World War One team game". The password for the game is "shellshock". Once you have joined have a look at the other thread on the forum called "WWI team game" to get familiar with the rules.

New World War I team game - played as 2 teams. Starting soon!
I've been wanting to do this for a long time. I'm not sure if it's been done before. Apologies if it's already been done. I've created a game called "WWI team game" and the idea is that we will recreate world war one by playing the game as 2 teams; the triple alliance consisting of Austria, Germany and turkey and the triple entente consisting of England, France and Russia.

Here are the rules:

Rule 1: there will be 3 teams. Team 1 consists of England, France and Russia. Team 2 consists of Turkey, Germany and Austria. Team 3 is Italy by themselves. These teams are permanent and will not change for the whole game.

Rule 2: You cannot attack a unit belonging to a team member. You cannot support an attack against a unit belonging to a team member. You cannot occupy a supply centre belonging to a team member. You cannot support a move to a supply centre belonging to a member of your team from someone that is not on your team. If one of your units is forced to retreat and the only option of where to retreat is to a supply centre belonging to one of your team members then you must disband the unit.

Rule 3: No private chat messages are allowed between member countries of team one and member countries of team two. For example Russia cannot send a private message to Germany, Turkey cannot send a private message to France etc.

Rule 4: At any point of the game the surviving countries can arrange to draw the game. However no draw is allowed that includes both a country in team one and a country in team two at the same time. What this essentially means is that in order for there to be a draw either all of the countries in team one must first be eliminated or all of the countries in team two must be eliminated.

Anything that is not specifically mentioned in the four rules above is allowed. The game is points per supply centre. Despite being the member of a team you are still trying to achieve the best result for your country. If you have any questions about the rules to this game then post them on this thread or on the global chat of the actual game. I am a big fan of military history and WWI so hopefully there will be some interest in this game. I've allowed the maximum time of 10 days before the game starts to give people a chance to read the rules. The password for the game is "shellshock".
And what about Italy?
Sorry, i can't read apparently...

I've never read any of the forum messages before I made this post. I didn't know that it's actually a really old idea that's been done lots of times before. That's good. It means that we have the precedent for a successful game.

can Italy flick back and forth or is he just a SC source ??

Yes Italy can do whatever they want. For them it is a normal diplomacy game. They can make and break alliances with any country. They can send private messages to any country. The best strategy for Italy would probably be to try to align yourself with someone and get included in a draw.

Haha I'm playing thisbgame now lol, just fyi the triple alliance was Germany, A-H and Italy and Turkey had been annexed. Its great fun, is there any space left?
rm63 (100 D)
06 Jun 16 UTC
Italy can attack any country and any country can attack Italy. Any alliances they make are normal "diplomacy" alliances and are not binding.

I forgot to say I'm happy to play with Italy as a floater, I joined and am looking forward to a great game! Hope everyone follows the rules.

Hi Blaz_Adam! It sounds like you were playing a WW2 version. In WW2 the axis powers were Germany, Austria and Italy and the allied powers were Britain, France and Russia (and the USA). Turkey stayed neutral in WW2 and didn't get involved.

I'm predicting that Italy might do quite well. It would be in the best interests of both France and Austria to form some sort of alliance with them. If they are smart with their diplomacy then they could go quite far.
Blaz_Adam (81 DX)
06 Jun 16 UTC
Yea for sure, Also Italy is The best country for allying Russia as they can cause Austria a quick death... On the other hand Italy can be back stabbed as well.... Tricky one to predict!

When one side is eliminated doesnt that mean the other side can only gang up on italy if the rules say they cant fight each other?

Germany will get crushed quickly. Although Russia will also get crushed quickly he should get zero builds.
rm63 (100 D)
06 Jun 16 UTC
Yes thats right. They may choose to include italy in a draw or to keep fighting. By the time one side is eliminated there is a good chance that one or two countries from the other team have been killed in the process.
rm63 (100 D)
06 Jun 16 UTC
Yes i admit that it looks much harder for some countries (germany and russia) then others which isnt really fair. The idea behind the game was to accurately recreate world war one even if the game is not quite fair
Gen. Lee (7588 D(B))
06 Jun 16 UTC
My prediction is Allies will win every time because Axis cannot build beyond the stalemate line once Germany is eliminated.
rm63 (100 D)
06 Jun 16 UTC
Maybe. Its possible. Ive never done this before so dont know how it will turn out. The game could be a total disaster. It doesnt matter. Its only a conputer game. Its nothing important.. i think that the human factor will make things unpredictable.

New England player wanted! England will probably go into civil disorder soon and needs a new leader. Because of the different waythis game is set up a new england player will still be in a goodposition despite missing two phases.
