Results of Ukraine-Referendum in The Netherlands.
A referendum was held about the pending association treaty between the EU and Ukraine. My country is the only country that hasn't agreed yet, because of a referendum with the unofficial outcome: "no" to the treaty. Some 32% voter turnout.
I voted "yes" and the general thought is that many people voted "no" against the EU in general, with Ukraine as collateral.
Thoughts?

The Right to Bear Arms - A Repudiation
So it turns out that the right to bear arms was actually only intended insofar as the usage by paramilitary militia groups in the event of a prolonged and protracted occupation by an enemy. The modern day interpretation of our gun laws is a fallacy perpetrated by the gun lobby to keep people dying, and keep their coffers flowing.

Is there a place for Diplomacy statistics?
I've been casually reading through Richard Sharp's "The Game of Diplomacy" and he keeps referencing statistics he got from somewhere. I know the book is very dated but I was curious as to if there was still somewhere I could find these statistics and if they've been kept up to date.

Is it possible to have exactly one electron sent through an electric circuit somehow?
What I ideally want is two power sources which send one electron each at the same time into one single electric circuit, observing which route is taken (indirectly).
Thoughts on whether this is possible? Thoughts on how to do this?

How statistically possible is it to only get France or Turkey when you play on classic?
Throughout my 20 or so games that I have played, I have been France and Turkey a disproportionate amount of times. I'm not complaining, it just seems weird. In 2 recent games that just started, I drew Turkey in one, and France in another.

She is moderately attractive, and plays board games. She is very close to my age and is a soil scientist. I was thinking I would play it slow and do the whole friendzone thing for a while intentionally but with an M. MAFIA XVIII: Presidential Election in Super Mario Land!

Citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom!

As we all by now know, there is a presidential election taking place across the realms of Super Mario Land! On one side, we have Mario standing for election on a platform of hope and political revolution, with free healthcare and education for all citizens, and a loyal following calling themselves the Mario Bros! Princess Peach is also standing for election on a more moderate platform and the nation is confused between their now divided loyalties. On the other side of the Mushroom Kingdom, Bowser is trying to unify all the realms under his rule, acting as the Ringleader to a grand old party of villains that includes Wario, Waluigi, and King Boo!

With King Boo too afraid of his own shadow to challenge Bowser or have had any impact in the debates, simply repeating the same lines over and over again, Bowser now commands an army of Boos and Koopa Troopas! As the election race rages on across the realms of Super Mario Land, the Mushroom Kingdom is being shaken by protests, from the usually peaceful Toad Town to the surrounds of Peach's Castle. Now Bowser is proposing to build a wall to divide the Mushroom Kingdom from Yoshi's Island, even though Yoshi has always been a Friendly Neighbour! (And Bowser says he'll make Yoshi pay for it!)

And as each election night passes, Bowser's gang appear to be picking off more and more of the Concerned Citizens standing in their way to the Presidency of the Mushroom Kingdom!

The battle lines have been drawn! Will you be on the side helping Mario win it for the Mario Bros? If Mario falls in the struggle will Peach save the day for moderate values in the Mushroom Kingdom? Or will Bowser and his gang of nutjob Koopas claim the Presidency once and for all?

MAFIA XVIII: PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION IN SUPER MARIO LAND HAS BEGUN!

INTRODUCTION

Mafia is an educated guessing game of epic proportions, challenging you to put your Diplomacy skills to good use, as you become either 'Town' or 'Mafia', and analyze, argue, convince, and lead, or schmooze, lie, deceive, and hoodwink, to win with the power of your words.

The Town's objective in the game is to lynch all Mafia members before the Mafia outnumber the rest of the Town. The Town can vote to lynch one player in each Day phase. Remember that mafia members are also part of the Town during the day and may manipulate the lynch vote to their liking.

The Mafia's objective is to avoid being lynched in the Day phases and kill Town members during the Night phase so that the Mafia outnumbers and can thus take control of the Town. The Mafia can vote to kill one Town member in each Night phase.

RULES

1. The GM reserves the right to adjudicate individual scenarios that arise during the course of the game at his discretion.
2. All players must vote at least once per game day.
3. All players must post at least five (5) times per game day. A post containing only a vote and no other substantive text does not count toward the daily minimum.
4. All players are forbidden from posting screenshots of their role PMs.
5. All players and spectators, including players who have been eliminated from the game, are forbidden from using non-sanctioned PMs to contact each other. Any sanctioned PM must be sent to a GM who will forward your message to the desired player. This rule extends to any seemingly non-related PMs about the activities of players still involved in the game.
6. All players are forbidden from deleting previous posts they have made in the game thread.
7. All spectators, including players who have been eliminated from the game, are forbidden from posting in the game thread. Deadposting may result in future suspension, at the discretion of future GMs.
8. All players and spectators, including players who have been eliminated from the game, are forbidden from commenting on or referring to the game in other non-related threads.
9. All players are forbidden from cheating.
10. All players are required to play to their win condition.
11. All players are required to play within the spirit of the game.
12. All players are subject to the regular webDiplomacy rules and guidelines for forum use, including the rules on no spamming, no public cheating accusations (this extends to mafia), answering all communication from the GM team. If you believe a player has broken site/game rules, contact the GMs, otherwise you will also be breaking site/game rules.

Further clarification to the rules are provided below, as follows.

RULE CLARIFICATIONS

1. Given a lack of omniscience, the GM cannot create a rule to resolve all possible scenarios pre-emptively. To compensate for this, the GM is permitted to resolve a given scenario however they see fit, within the remit of the rules listed above, in the interest of all participants. The GM will resolve all scenarios as closely as possible to the intention of the rules, and will present an explanation regarding the adjudication to the greatest possible detail (which does not compromise anything in-game) and as closely in accordance with the written rules as possible.

2. Voting is a basic requirement of play during the day phases of the game. To ensure that all players are meeting this basic requirement of gameplay, voting is prescribed within the rules. Players must have voted for another player in the game through the course of the day. Players can proceed to unvote if they wish.

3. A minimum posting limit of five required substantial posts has been set to maintain gameplay. While inactivity (referred to as 'lurking') is, on some level, an important part of the game of Mafia, players who provide continuously provide no contact or interaction in the game (in essence, not playing) serve only to reduce the degree of enjoyment and increase the degree of frustration of the other players in the game. Signing up for this game is an expression of commitment to taking it seriously – do not sign up if you believe you will not be able to spend any time on it.

4. All role PMs have been posted in the setup information below, and all players (regardless of alignment) will receive the description of the vanilla town role within the complete text of their role PM. The point of this rule is to forbid "gaming" the role PMs to determine alignments; after all, the fun of this game is reading people, not outguessing the GM.

5. All in-game communications should be kept within the thread. The mafia will receive a QuickTopic thread for communicating with one another outside of the game thread during Night phases; aside from this, there should be no other forms of private messaging.

6. This should not present a problem for Mafia games on WebDiplomacy, as site users are not currently able to edit or delete their own posts in any way; however, if you do in fact possess some means of deleting or editing your posts after you've submitted them, you are forbidden from doing so.

7. Spectators, including players who have been eliminated or removed from the game, are not playing the game and therefore should not be influencing the proceeding course of the game's development. As such, spectators are not allowed to post in the game thread, to avoid disturbing the progress of the game. Deadposting by players who have been eliminated from the game may be seen as irreverent but is against the rules to avoid any potential disturbance to the balance of the game.

8. Spectators, including players who have been eliminated or removed from the game, are not permitted to comment on game-related activities in private messages or any form of comment threads. Special chat rooms will be opened for individuals who to play along with the game in an Observer chat, or discuss the game with full information in the God chat. All individuals are asked to use only these channels to discuss the game while it is still ongoing.
9. Incidents of potential cheating will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Any player caught cheating as per the GMs’ collective judgment will be removed from the current game as a bare minimum. Future GMs may choose to enact more penalties, including exclusion from future participation.

10. This rule simply means that your actions should in some conceivable way advance your win condition as stated in your role PM. This rule is somewhat subjective, because the difference between a mistake and sabotage is sometimes hard to determine; the GM will exercise caution and restraint in observing this rule. This also means that if you need to leave the game for any reason, you should not simply drop out, but should message the GM first so the GM can determine the best course of action.

11. The “spirit of the game” is, again, a very subjective phrase, but it is fairly assumed that any participants in the game understand what goes against the true spirit of play. If your actions are deemed to harm the grander scope of mafia on webDiplomacy, the GMs may choose to penalize you at their discretion.
12. Under no circumstances are any webDiplomacy forum and site rules, both written and understood, to be broken during mafia games. Any player breaking forum or site rules of any kind will be promptly removed to the game and may be subject to other penalties at the moderators’ discretion.

PENALTIES

The penalty for breaking one of the above rules is decided at the GM’s discretion, up to and including immediate removal from the game and/or sanctions from future games. Removal and/or sanction are instruments of last resort and will be used only if absolutely necessary. A player removed from the game may or may not have their role revealed on removal, depending on the circumstances surrounding their removal.

VOTING

There are three levels of voting within the game: collective voting to lynch players in Day phases, collective voting to end a Day or Night phase, and Mafia voting to kill town members in Night phases.

The first level of voting is for whom you intend to lynch. Notate this vote with a pair of octothorpes before your intended vote target. (e.g., ##VOTE Eden) You do not need to spell out your intended target's username fully; as long as the GM can understand who you're referencing. In the event of a tie during a lynch vote, no one shall be lynched. PLEASE NOTE: If you do not use double octothorpes your vote will not be counted, for reasons of fairness but also because it is unlikely the GM will see your vote using the CTRL+F feature and this rule this prevents vote miscounts.

The second level of voting is whether or not to employ the hammer mechanic. By default, days are set to 48 hours long, and nights to 24 hours long; however, players may instead elect to end the day as soon as a majority is reached (called a “quick hammer” or simply “hammer”). Notate this vote with a pair of octothorpes before the word end. (EX: ##END) The game will switch to the hammer mechanic for the duration of that day once a majority of players choose to do so. If you are not able to vote before the hammer is dropped, you will not be penalized for failing to vote during that day.

The third level of voting refers to Mafia members choosing their NK (nightkill) targets during Night phases. The mafia members will use their separate QuickTopic thread to discuss this. Please make your votes in bold, like so: kill Eden (< b > kill Eden < / b >). Mafia NK will be decided by majority vote. In the event of a tie, the most recent vote will decide.

MISCELLANEOUS NOTES

SPAM

Spamming (defined as excessive content-free posting; or, excessive posting regarding subjects irrelevant to the game - “stupid pointless annoying messages”) is not allowed. The GMs will warn a player prior to taking further action but will also not hesitate to take action if deemed necessary. The in-game voting mechanic exists to curb any advantage that spamming as a tactic may confer; please reference the “VOTING” section above for more information. Suffice to say that spamming is not worth anyone’s time in this setup, and will be frowned upon, so while you may not necessarily be lynched or mod-killed for spamming, please refrain from doing so.

PLAYER SILENCES

Players that have other participants on their mute list are asked to remove them for the duration of this game. Disputes stemming from outside of this game should not carry over into the gameplay. If they do, the GM reserves the right to address these issues and potentially remove or sanction players if it becomes a disruption. Players refusing to follow this rule will be removed. No players will be removed by request of another player (or players) without justification at the GMs’ discretion.

FORUM SILENCES:

If a player is silenced on the forum by the moderator/admin team, an alternate will take their place for the duration of their silence. The silenced player will then have the option to take their position back over or leave it in the hands of the alternate. If no alternate is available, the player will be modkilled. As long as the silence does not stem from actions involving the mafia thread, there will be no in-game sanctions for a forum silence.

REPLACEMENTS

A player wishing to drop out may be replaced at the GM's discretion. Individuals wishing to serve as potential replacements must NOT join the out-of-game God QT. (Being in the Observer QT is acceptable). Replacement is guaranteed only with the consent of an alternate. Eliminated players may not become replacements.

TURN DURATION

This game’s Day phases will last 48 hours and Night phases will last 24 hours, unless cut short by in-game mechanics (e.g., hammer). Extensions may be granted at a moderator’s discretion, but don’t count on it. Phase shifts will be 6 pm EST / 10 pm UTC.

MODERATOR/GM TEAM

The moderator/GM team for this game is Wjessop (userID=71055) and bo_sox48 (userID=38739). PM both of us with any questions or concerns and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.

MINIMUM POSTING RULE (ALL CAPS TO DRAW ATTENTION)
ALL PLAYERS MUST POST A MINIMUM OF 5 TIMES OVER THE COURSE OF EACH 48 HOUR GAME DAY. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN A MODKILL AT THE GM'S DISCRETION.

====================

FORMAT INFORMATION

22 players:

16 Town (Citizens of Mushroom Kingdom):
1 Mario (Doctor)
1 Luigi (Vigilante)
1 Princess Peach (Inventor)
1 Princess Daisy (Cop)
1 Yoshi (Friendly Neighbour)
1 Birdo (Commuter)
10 Concerned Citizens of Mushroom Kingdom (Vanilla Town)

6 Mafia (Bowser's Gang):
1 Wario (Strongman)
1 Waluigi (Sniper)
1 Bowser (Ringleader)
1 King Boo (Ghost)
1 Boo (Junior Ghost)
1 Koopa Troopa (Mafioso)

Role PMs:

TOWN:

Vanilla:
You are a Concerned Citizen of the Mushroom Kingdom!
During the day you may make an accusation against someone; the candidate who reaches a plurality will be lynched and barred from the election process by the Citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom at the end of the day. You have no night actions but may communicate with other players in the game thread during the night.. You win once all mafia/Bowser's Gang have been barred from the election.

Doctor:
You are Mario, the Doctor!
During the day you may make an accusation against someone; the candidate who reaches a plurality will be lynched and barred from the election process by the Citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom at the end of the day. During the night you can select one player to protect; any negative night action targeting the selected player will be prevented. The only exception to this rule is if a night kill is forced by the Strongman. The player you protected will be notified that the Doctor visited them at the end of the night, but your identity will not be revealed. You win once all mafia/Bowser's Gang have been barred from the election.

Vigilante:
You are Luigi, the Vigilante!
During the day you may make an accusation against someone; the candidate who reaches a plurality will be lynched and barred from the election process by the Citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom at the end of the day. During the night, you break away from your fellow citizens and select one player to execute at your own discretion; at the end of the night, that player will be killed. You may act independently in this way only twice during the entire game. If you are lynched or killed, Waluigi, the Sniper, will join the mafia night chat. You win once all mafia/Bowser's Gang have been barred from the election.

Inventor:
You are Princess Peach, the Inventor!
During the day you may make an accusation against someone; the candidate who reaches a plurality will be lynched and barred from the election process by the Citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom at the end of the day. During the night, you tend to your inventions. You have 3 items you can invent: a Blaster Gun; a Magic Mushroom potion; and a Flower Power booster. You can invent as many of each item as you like in the game, but you must distribute each of the 3 items before you can replenish your invention stockpile. Players receiving an item must use the item in the according game level (Day/Night) for which they receive the item, i.e., if the Inventor provides the Item to you after Night 1, you can only use your item in Day 2/Night 2 before it disappears.

Item information is as follows:
Blaster Gun - this provides the user a 1-shot gun that can be fired either in the Day or Night.
Magic Mushroom Potion - this potion gives a life boost to the player preventing their death in the Day (from lynch or gunshot) and in the Night from a night kill/gunshot.
Flower Power Booster - this provides the receiving player with an increase effect that allows for a temporary vote doubler, so that the receiving player's vote in the Day counts for 2 votes rather than 1 vote. The player MUST declare that they received the Flower Power Booster in order to use it. Players given a Flower Power Booster will be notified of this stipulation.

You cannot give items to yourself. You cannot give items to the same player consecutively. You win once all mafia/Bowser's Gang have been barred from the election. You will also receive the role PM for a Vanilla Townie role.

Cop:
You are Princess Daisy, the Cop!
During the day you may make an accusation against someone; the candidate who reaches a plurality will be lynched and barred from the election process by the Citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom at the end of the day. During the night you may select one player to investigate. At the end of the night, if the player you investigated is a member of the mafia/Bowser's Gang, you will get a PM at night's end reporting a guilty scan. The only mafia exception to this rule is if you scan King Boo (Ghost) at any point in the game, or if you scan Boo (Junior Ghost) on the night that they are practicing their Ghost skills, at which point you will receive an innocent scan report. Otherwise, you will also get an innocent scan report if you scan any member of the town/Citizen of Mushroom Kingdom. You win once all mafia/Bowser's Gang have been barred from the election.

Friendly Neighbour:
You are Yoshi, the Friendly Neighbour!
During the day you may make an accusation against someone; the candidate who reaches a plurality will be lynched and barred from the election process by the Citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom at the end of the day. During the night you may select one player. At the end of the night, that player will receive a PM revealing your identity as Yoshi, the Friendly Neighbour. You may choose not to reveal yourself to anyone. You win once all mafia/Bowser's Gang have been barred from the election.

Commuter:
You are Birdo, the Commuter!
During the day you may make an accusation against someone; the candidate who reaches a plurality will be lynched and barred from the election process by the Citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom at the end of the day. During the night you can use your wings to fly away (commute) from the Mushroom Kingdom, and this will make you invulnerable/unavailable for ALL night actions. When you commute, you cannot be night-killed, even by the Strongman, and you cannot be shot. You also cannot receive a visit from the Friendly Neighbour when you commute (the Friendly Neighbour will receive a notification that no one was home to receive their message), but the Cop's lengthy and thorough investigation will still reveal an innocent report in your absence. IMPORTANT: You can only fly away/commute 3 times during the game; after that, you will no longer be able to commute away because your wings will be tired from all the flying. You cannot commute other players. You win once all mafia/Bowser's Gang have been barred from the election.

MAFIA:

Ringleader:
You are Bowser, the Ringleader!
During the day you may make an accusation against someone; the candidate who reaches a plurality will be lynched at the end of the day. During the night, you may talk to your mafia/Bowser's Gang teammates, and vote on who to kill. Your mafia/Bowser's Gang teammates are <Mafia Member B>, Wario (Strongman), <Mafia Member C>, Waluigi (Sniper), <Mafia Member D>, King Boo (Ghost), <Mafia Member E>, Boo (Junior Ghost), and <Mafia Member F>, Koopa Troppa (Mafioso). You may vote not to kill anyone. If you and your teammates are unable to collectively decide on who to kill and there is a tie of votes, your vote will count twice, allowing you to break any tie. You may break ties even when a member of your team fails to vote. If you are killed, ties will be broken by the earliest vote. You win once nothing can stop you from eliminating all of the town/Citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom and winning the election. You may use, and must submit night actions to, this QuickTopic thread: <QuickTopic thread link>.

Strongman:
You are Wario, the Strongman!
During the day you may make an accusation against someone; the candidate who reaches a plurality will be lynched at the end of the day. During the night, you may talk to your mafia/Bowser's Gang teammates, and vote on who to kill. Your mafia/Bowser's Gang teammates are <Mafia Member A>, Bowser (Ringleader), <Mafia Member C>, Waluigi (Sniper), <Mafia Member D>, King Boo (Ghost), <Mafia Member E>, Boo (Junior Ghost), and <Mafia Member F>, Koopa Troppa (Mafioso). As the Strongman, you have a 1-time option to force a night kill. In this instance, when you and your mafia teammates are deciding who to kill, you may elect to use your strength to ensure your kill is successful despite the Doctor’s protection. Your strength is not adequate to kill the Commuter if he or she has flown away from the kingdom. You may only use your epic strength once, after which point you will no longer have enough special power to do so again. You win once nothing can stop you from eliminating all of the town/Citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom and winning the election. You may use, and must submit night actions to, this QuickTopic thread: <QuickTopic thread link>.

Sniper:
You are Waluigi, the Sniper!
During the day you may make an accusation against someone; the candidate who reaches a plurality will be lynched at the end of the day. During the night, you may communicate with other players in the main thread. During either the day or the night, you may choose to sneak away from the conversation and target one player between the crosshairs of your gun; this player will be killed as soon as a GM can adjudicate your shot. You only have one round in your gun so you can only kill one player throughout the course of the game. Your mafia/Bowser's Gang teammates are <Mafia Member A>, Bowser (Ringleader), <Mafia Member B>, Wario (Strongman), <Mafia Member D>, King Boo (Ghost), <Mafia Member E>, Boo (Junior Ghost), and <Mafia Member F>, Koopa Troppa (Mafioso). However, as you are a Sniper out on a mission to kill Luigi, you do not initially have a way to communicate with your mafia teammates at night in mafia chat, and so you do not have access to the QuickTopic thread and cannot vote on the nightkill. When Luigi has died, either through lynch, gunshot, or nightkill, you can return to Bowser's Gang and gain access to mafia chat. You do not have to kill Luigi yourself to gain access to mafia chat. If Luigi dies before you use your gunshot, you will still retain your gunshot for use. You win once nothing can stop you and your mafia teammates from eliminating all of the town/Citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom and winning the election.

Ghost:
You are King Boo, the Ghost!
During the day you may make an accusation against someone; the candidate who reaches a plurality will be lynched at the end of the day. During the night, you may talk to your mafia/Bowser's Gang teammates, and vote on who to kill. Your mafia/Bowser's Gang teammates are <Mafia Member A>, Bowser (Ringleader), <Mafia Member B>, Wario (Strongman), <Mafia Member C>, Waluigi (Sniper), <Mafia Member E>, Boo (Junior Ghost), and <Mafia Member F>, Koopa Troppa (Mafioso). You may vote not to kill anyone. If Princess Daisy (the Cop) investigates you then your ghostly form means you will not be revealed as guilty. You win once nothing can stop you from eliminating all of the town/Citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom and winning the election. You may use, and must submit night actions to, this QuickTopic thread: <QuickTopic thread link>.

Your mafia/Bowser's Gang teammates are <Mafia Member A>, Bowser (Ringleader), <Mafia Member B>, Wario (Strongman), <Mafia Member C>, Waluigi (Sniper), <Mafia Member D>, King Boo (Ghost), and <Mafia Member F>, Koopa Troppa (Mafioso). You may vote not to kill anyone. As a Junior Ghost, you have still not perfected your ghostly form and so you have a 1-time use option of successfully achieving a ghostly form, providing immunity to cop investigations. Otherwise, you are a standard Mafioso. You may select to take on your full ghostly form for 1 Night in the game. If Princess Daisy (the Cop) investigates on the Night you have successfully achieved your ghostly form you will not be revealed as guilty and the investigation will say you are innocent. ADDITIONAL CLARIFICATIONS

Mafia Voting:
1) Ties will be broken by the earliest vote, if the Ringleader dies.

Strongman:
1) The Strongman's strength is only exerted/used when someone is killed. So, if the Mafia target the Commuter, and the Commuter is out of town, then no kill will take place, and therefore the Strongman will not have exerted themselves. As a general rule, in any case where the Mafia's selection is not available in town to be nightkilled, then the Strongman retains his strength.

Doctor:
1) The Doctor cannot save the same person consecutively.
2) The Doctor cannot self-target.

Guns:
1) The Sniper may only shoot once per day.
2) If there are no other mafia members left, the Sniper will have returned to base and gained the ability to kill at night and therefore lost the sniper shot if it is remaining, but will still be able to use a Gun Blaster if one is received.
3) Within reason, a Sniper or Gun Blaster shot can be set to shoot 'after' a certain time, to avoid time-stamp outguessing. Gunshots can be set to go off "after" a certain time*, but not at a specific time, i.e., a request that "the gun shot go off at 4 in the morning" will be rejected, because GMs aren't a 24-hour call service. *Please note: This only applies to the Sniper and any player's use of the Gun Blaster.
4) If the Vigilante or Sniper receive the Gun Blaster, the Gun Blaster will take precedent over their inherent power role, if they choose to use the item in the level in which it is received.
5) Any gunshot message will be the same.

##GM NOTE:

There will be an extension on Easter. We'll provide details then.
wjessop (100 DX)
20 Mar 16 UTC
##GM Note

The Easter Extension will work within the game as follows:

Tuesday 22 EOD1 (normal phase length)
Wednesday 23 EON1 (normal phase length)
Saturday 26 EOD2 (+24 hours)
Monday 28 EON2 (+24 hours)
Wednesday 30 EOD3 (normal phase length)
Thursday 1 EON3 (normal phase length)
and so on with normal phase lengths.

The Easter Extension applies to all events in the second phase of the game equally, so that mafia/town are each provided an extra 24 hours on their respective sides of the phase. This also seems the fairest way to divide it between the two main holiday days, so that Good Friday and Easter Sunday are both free from gameplay.

Citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom!
You have your candidates! You know their platforms! You know the role you must play in what has become the most tightly-fought election that Mario Land has ever seen!

Now YOU must decide who you will choose to support in the election race, or who should be voted out of contention altogether!

The Election process has begun, and all citizens may now post in this thread!

Election Day 1 will end in 48 hours, on Tuesday 22 March, 6pm EDT!

In the words of RuPaul, good luck and don't fuck it up!

MAFIA XVIII: PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION IN SUPER MARIO LAND HAS BEGUN!

Hello everyone, I just wanted to check in. The setup looks like a lot of fun and I wanted to thank the gm's for putting on this game.

It feels like we just finished the last one, but here we are again.

Jamiet99uk (1307 D)
20 Mar 16 UTC
Right. Ok. Let me get this straight - three people are voting for HR before HR has even posted?

Is the scumteam really trying to take control early, or do all three of you have a proper explanation for your votes?

reedeer1 (100 D)
20 Mar 16 UTC
why the early votes? trying to provoke a reaction is what was claimed last time, but this is a lot of votes for the first hour...
@Chaqa, It doesn't actually help town to claim VT. Basically the they goes that PR's are less likely to fake claim VT then actual VT's so the more VT's claim the smaller the pool where there is a higher chance of PR's. Even WIFOM included, more VT's will real claim than PR's.
y2kjbk (4846 D(G))
20 Mar 16 UTC
My vote is a "why not" vote and will change when I have a real reason to vote for someone. I like a lead wagon forming early and potentially randomly as well. Gets the talking happening early.
brainbomb (295 D)
20 Mar 16 UTC
Yea y2k is right. Hes also scummy as fuck already. ##VOTE Y2K

hes either bussing or blowing smoke. No reason to bw like that.

At least something is provoking conversation. Seems slower this time around.

Not a fan of joke voting myself. One jackass thinks it's funny, then a couple more vote thinking no one else will, then BOOM! You get Sheriff Andy for prom queen.

Brainbomb, you completely ignored my question

Reactionary OMGUS test right off the bet to see if I wont check you on that your opening posts have had an air of uncertainty to them and fear. Did. I find something in those past games you are worried about perhaps?
