an nmr-ing italy that played poorly. the IT worked well because Italy was far too lenient with you, and made real big mistakes, imo.

@SD- I will agree italy was lenient but I think that had England played a better game mine and Italy's alliance was set to hold for a 3 way draw. we had an incident in which I went for the stab but immediately withdrew. I thought Italy was going to NMR and decided to take the opportunity, when I pulled out and apologized Italy gained a significant trust in me enough to allow me to send fleets west into the med. I admit this isn't a great solo, but up until the end when England failed to enter orders and then Italy NMRed (likely due to the english lack of moves) it was a fantastic I/T. I think the key was that Italy let me have Greece and so I was able to carry on invading russia and austria while he attacked Austria and france. I have found the I/T crumbles very quicky when greece is italian. Italy feels a need to defend greece at all times forcing turkey to keep atleast 2 forces back to defend himself. the way me and Italy did it really worked. I limited myself to under 4 navies throughout the gae until the stab (which was meant in earnest to give Italy control of the med but me enough force to defend myself) it was the perfect balance.

I'm not saying you didnt play well - sorry if it came across that way - and congrats on your solo. But separate of NMRs, I think Italy really screwed up in allowing you to build that extra fleet, and in letting you send fleets west. Neither things are wise for an Italy to do.

Oh I know that isn't what you were saying. I am trying to give insight. I personally didn't think I'd go for the solo. My intent was the 3 way draw with England included. When England let me into ST.Petersburg that really changed things. I knew that given his failure to input moves and such that to not solo would be a crime. If England had held out and had agreed to destroy France earlier id have been content 3 way drawing.

I give Italy credit the level of trust he had was amazing, j felt terrible stabbing. I think in a similar situation id never have allowed Turkish fleets through as Italy.
