Part of the focus of my opening was the difference between equality and equity.
I like the illustration, also there is a great quote - often attribxuted to Einstien - about fish climbing trees. We have a one size fits all education system, standardized tests which train children to be good at standardized testing, so are naturally more cut out for it than others. The system fails to educate a huge swath of kids, and they tend to be from disadvantaged backgrounds, they tend to be surrounded by peers who don't value education, and a lot of their values come from their parents.
Thus providing them with the same educational opportunities as middle class families will never result in the same esucational outcomes.
There are alternatives of course, informal education, like the methods used by scout groups world wide, can have a huge impact; but they are not used as a substitute for formal education.
As to the direction of the article - i don't know that i agree that we can overthrow a huge social system; and integration into it may be the best we can hope for. I agree that anti-discrimination legislation is not an end in itself, but it is a good step in the right direction.

If you want to generalise from the inidivual author to the community in general, yeah sure. But this is one voice, and i doubt it represents the totality of the trans community. Whether a large number of trans people listen to this voice and follow it's call is open to speculation. But something tells me a majoirtywill choose the path of least resistance (and that is me making assumptions about people, but i do think my assumptions are better than your generalisation)

models to print and use as units. I need tanks, infantry, helicopters, planes, artillery, battleships, factories, territory markers (flags or more creative) and possibly the resources oil, iron, gold and aluminium depicted somehow..
