Feminism, Authoritarianism and Gender
I hesitate to post this, but i wonder where discussion will lead...
Is Gender socially constructed? Is there a difference between gender identity and gender expression? What other issues does this raise?

Why'd You Choose Your Username?
It's a decision we all make, and one we have to life with for the rest of our time on this site; choosing a username. Some choose their own name, their initials, a historical figure or even a reference to a movie or TV show. So I ask all of you, just why did you choose that username you have?

I'm interested. Could someone please explain how these work? All I could see from the link is who's in which league.

Hi Brankl,

The Leagues is a site sponsored tournament that is supposed to run about twice a year. Or at the least once a year. Signups for this particular run (which is almost over) were back in January/February. Those who perform best are promoted to the next League above them, while those who are on the bottom of the table are relegated to the League below them.

The site that is linked hosts information on all of the site-sponsored tournaments, which are mainly run by the mod team. Please look around at some of them and see if any interest you, as many of them will be coming up later on in the year.

Any chance we could get the Spectate and Join buttons a bit further apart. I spectated the Premier game twice before joining.
Sure, we'll put that on the list right behind the ready and save buttons.
@goldfinger: wasn't that fixed a while ago. Or did you guys just say you moved them?
Though some more space between the mute thread and +1 button would be nice.
Shhhhh. Vashta they believed us for the longest time! Don't blow it.

I legitimately can't tell if any of you are serious.
Though, I agree with you on that second bit. The number of times I've almost locked threads and forum silenced users while trying to plus one someone on my phone is....too many.
abgemacht (1076 D(G))

I do not joke about button kerning.
@goldfinger: Ah, yes, mod problems. wasn't there even a time PE silenced himself?
Yeah, it is possible for you to silence yourself
So, as it seems I'm not the only one to have done that accidentally, how do I unmute a thread?
A_Tin_Can (2234 D)
26 May 15 UTC
Stefan: There's a list of muted threads on your "settings" page. You can unmute them there.

We really need to add that to the FAQ.
Thank you! I'm afraid I had never been to my settings page after joining.

I have a league question.
The A leagues have 3 move up and 3 down. The C leagues have 3 move up and 3 down. The B leagues have 2 move up and 2 down?
For some reason I thought it was 3 up/down regardless of the level in the past.

You clearly don't follow soccer (football). If it was logical and made sense, then why would we need the FA? The rules are obtuse and illogical to make sure there's a place for a ruling class.

Also, there are 2 A leagues and 3 B leagues. So 6 move up and 6 move down.
Hi dyager,

Its mainly because there are two A Leagues and 3 B Leagues in this go around. 6 move down from the A Leagues (3 up, 3 down) so only two can move up from the B Leagues

Gotcha. Thanks for the clarification.

Oh, another question -
Does the B3 league people move up to B2. B2 up to B1, B1 up to A2 and so on? Because that wouldnt work with the 3 up 2 down thing as A2 loses 3 people and B1 only replaces 2 of them.

Hellenic Riot (1626 D(G))

No. The numbered leagues are horizontal rather than vertical. So 2 from each B league will go up into the A Leagues.
Right. A1 is in the same tier as A2. B1, B2 and B3 are all in the same tier.

Can someone explain how hidden draw votes changes the game enough to make it a variant? It just doesn't seem all that interesting to me.

Going out to vote today...
...but is it a good thing?

In case you don't know; Ireland is having a marriage equality referendum today. Yes will mean marriage between gay couples becomes a reality, a No will deny them their fundamental human rights.

I've always enjoyed little concentrated nuggets of wisdom and any opportunity to expand my collection. What are some of your favorite quotes?

Does anyone know a software to simulate movements for the world map with 17 players? There are various for other variants, I suppose a mod with the world variant should be sufficient. Any info on that? Thank you :)
