1. I DO think Ulysses was one of if not the greatest book of the 20th century...
I'd say I think 1984 was the most important/far-reaching work, given how Orwellian, Big Brother, Room 101 and all the concepts of that book are so pertinent today and have entered into the common public consciousness--even if people don't know who wrote "To be or not to be," or who says it, they know the line and know it's dramatically staging a critical choice, same with Big Brother, even if they don't know the book, they KNOW what that a Big brother State means by now--but...
You hate Orwell. ...Don't know if you hate Joyce, Putin, but you don't seem to like Ulysses...
So, oh well. How WILL I get along knowing you hate those two geniuses?
Well, this was a fun tournament, anyway...sometime I'll have to try and rank them 1-64 based on point totals and how far they advanced.
