Trump and Taxes

#1 Post by Randomizer » Mon Sep 28, 2020 5:40 pm

Someone with legal access to Trump's tax returns leaked them to the New York Times and it proved what had been said before that Trump paid none or little in taxes in the US. It appears he paid more to other countries.

Trump used massive debt and questionable practices to avoid what he's demanded of poorer folk. He's lived a life of luxury by charging it as business expenses.

Living in Arizona where its former governor and real estate developer like Trump personally guaranteed millions in loans, his lenders found out he had only a few thousand dollars in real assets and his fortune was in untouchable trusts or was his wife's so they got nothing. The over $400 million coming due in the next 4 years will probably be backed by bankrupt properties and nothing that will cost Trump.

Trump may owed over a hundred millions of dollars to Russia according to Eric Trump which could explain so much.

Then there are the business expenses for Donald and Ivanka Trump:

Anyone think they got their businesses' moneys worth?

That's Ivanka's area after they gave her patents.

More disclosures include about $25 million in consulting fees with one transaction traced by the exact amount to Ivanka. It appears Donald wrote off as expenses money to his children for projects where he was already paying them.

More news about his failing businesses, you know the crown jewels of Trump's empire. These are the businesses that are still around and not the ones lost to bankruptcies and sold off. Like his airline, his part ownership in the USFL New Jersey Generals, buildings and attempts to build, and his casinos. That went through 3 bankruptcies and is being torn down as a public safety hazard because it is falling into the street.

Then there is his donated land for a park that he got a charitable tax deduction. It can't be used because of asbestos in the buildings and no one wants to pay to make it safe. But it has big signs with his name on them.

Until we actually get to see the taxes, we are hearing the Times interpretation of his tax records. I'd personally like to see them before making any judgements.

It's well known that Trump has carried massive amounts of debt around for decades.

New York has access to the state and corporate tax returns and they have found unreported income for his companies and differences with what he reported to apply for bank loans. There are now questions in filed campaign expense documents about where checks were sent for tax purposes that imply Trump's companies are trying to evade taxes.
