Current views on Squigs (only got a few mins)

The claim of not reading his PM is interesting, there are a few reasons that I can see why he would do this.

1) He genuinely hasn't/hadn't read the PM.
Pros - he can play like town regardless, can't scumslip his buddy
Cons - could hunt his scum buddy
Highly risky strat, although he doesn't personally stick out as someone who's been leading the scum hunting as this strat allows for.

2) He has read the PM and is scum
I think that this currently is the most likely, assuming I'm remembering correctly, he started to come under fire, this claim has fully shifted the focus away from his earlier moves and honestly provided a reasonable distraction. I don't think he expected this kind of negative reaction, again somewhat risky.

3) He has read the PM and is town
This is purely to mess with scum, they will be relying on reads from today to make their plays and if he can make them question what they're thinking then it's kinda worked?

On the whole I don't see benefit this has for town with the way he's played it

I'm assuming I'm town. If I'm right, I can scumhunt just as effectively as if I read my PM and knew I was town. If I'm wrong and I'm scum... well at that point I wouldn't care. Yes, I very well could be scum. But your quick vote on me is interesting, since you both buy my claim and vote for me based on strategy rather than alignment.

Why guess? Why deprive yourself of information? If you are town, then what is the benefit, to you or to town, of your strategy? Please tell me.

I've admitted already that this strategy wouldn't benefit me as town. I've also argued that it wouldn't hurt me as town.

But I think revealing this strategy has been beneficial. Your reaction looks very townie. Scum Jamie wouldn't act how you have been acting. Bozo on the other hand... He made one vote post mirroring Jamie's, and then left. I think he wanted my wagon to take off without pushing it himself, since he knew the logic behind his vote was bad.

I do not know if you really checked your role or not, but I found it suspicious to announce that you had not. You implied the reason you did not check your role was so that you would be able to look more like town if your were scum. Publicly announcing this removes any benefit, since looking like town in your early posts is no longer indicative of being town, since you are claiming you did not know your role. If you really did not check your role for the reason you said, you should not have announced the fact. This leads me to think it is possible you knew you were scum all along.

I haven't actually read my role PM yet. Last game when I saw scum in my role PM I froze up. So I figured if I just assume I'm town, then no matter what my role I'll benefit from not reading my PM. I'll read it in a few hours in case I'm Mason and need to save someone, but right now I'll just keep playing like I'm VT.

The goal of this approach would be to play better as scum. Since you can't tell me your are not scum:

I believed your earlier statement about not reading the role PM but reading me as scum keeps you in the scum lean column.

That is incorrect. There are a bunch of other players who have read their Role PM and know they are town. Those people know there is 0% chance that they are scum. Most of them will currently be trying, with varying degrees of skill, to work out who the scum are.

You, Squigs, on the other hand, cannot honestly and sincerely scumhunt, because as far as you know, you might be hunting for yourself. You literally cannot scumhunt properly if you don't know you're not scum yourself.

Agreed, he has been flip flopping around onto whichever wagon he thinks has the most momentum. Classic scum behavior.

1) Squigs told us he has a secret, if he had checked his role PM, he would say that immediately.
2) People started to want him to check his role pm immediately. I actually would want him to check this at night so if he was scum he could hunt for his scummate. You didn't let this happen.
→I believe - if Squigs is scum - his scummate wanted him to check his role. If we kill him and he rolls scum ( I think he will because he is my top scumread at the moment) masons can check the pool who wanted Squigs to know his role.
