MAFIA OVERVIEW

Mafia is an educated guessing game of epic proportions. The objective of this game for the town majority is to kill all mafia members before they outnumber the rest of the town. The objective of the mafia minority is to survive until they outnumber the town. The game is typically very active, so the thread will grow quickly. However, it is essential to read the thread to play the game.

TL;DR - normal mafia rules.

This game follows standard WebDip Mafia Rules, located here.


MISCELLANEOUS NOTES

TL;DR - Don't be a shitlord.

Players may be warned, forcibly replaced, or modkilled for violation of game rules. The GM team will attempt to minimize disruption to the game, but will use whatever means are needed to preserve the integrity of the game.

Players who have site-wide muted other players are asked to unmute them to play this game. Players who have been silenced on webDiplomacy due to site infractions will be forcibly replaced from the game.

Players who wish to quit playing may be replaced at GM discretion. Replacement is not guaranteed. Substitutes cannot participate in spectator chats until they sub into the game and are subsequently removed from it (e.g., by dying).


VOTING

TL;DR - no changes to the voting mechanic in this game.

To vote for a player, type ##VOTE <player> (e.g. ##VOTE Eden). You may unvote by typing ##UNVOTE. You may switch from voting one player to another without unvoting first (e.g., if you ##VOTE Eden then type ##VOTE Bona, you will vote for Bona). You may choose to no-kill by typing ##UNVOTE. You don’t need to type out the player’s full name, but failing to do so may lead to ambiguity that causes errors in vote tallying, particularly with the bot. In the event of a tie vote at the end of the day, no player will be killed.

You may vote to end the day early by typing ##END. If a majority of players are voting ##END and casting the same vote (whether for a player or to no-kill), the phase will end early. If the day ends more than 8 hours into the start of the day phase, the remaining time will be added to the next night phase; if the day ends less than 8 hours into the start of the day phase, the next night phase will end 24 hours early.

Additional Information/Explanation

1. Compulsive means the doctor must use his night action and if no action is submitted for whatever reason, their action will be randomized by the GM.
2. The doctor can save a target in consecutive nights if they want.
3. Semi-Paranoid Cop means that if the Cop is targeted by the doctor, their scan result will come back guilty no matter who they target.
4. Mafia roleblocker cannot perform the faction night kill and roleblock at the same time.
5. If anyone is roleblocked, they will receive a PM from the GM saying that they were roleblocked even if they had no night actions to perform.

Role PMs

COMPULSIVE DOCTOR - You are the Town Compulsive Doctor. Each night, you must ##SAVE a target to prevent them from being killed by the Mafia. Because you're compulsive, you will attempt to save anyone even if you cannot make up your mind (meaning if you forget to submit an order or AFK it for some reason). You win when the Mafia team is eliminated.

SEMI-PARANOID COP - You are the Town Semi-Paranoid Cop. Each night, you may ##SCAN a player. If your target is mafia-aligned, you will receive a GUILTY result. Otherwise, if your target is town, you'll receive a NOT GUILTY. However, you're a very paranoid person and like to work alone - if you are targeted by the doctor during any night, if you use your scan result, it will come back as GUILTY no matter who you scanned. You win when the Mafia team is eliminated.

VANILLA TOWN - You are a Vanilla Town. You win when the Mafia team is eliminated.

MAFIA ROLEBLOCKER - You are the Mafia Roleblocker. Each night, you may ##ROLEBLOCK a player and prevent them from executing any night action they attempt to perform. Your target will be notified that they were roleblocked. If you are performing this roleblock action, you cannot perform the mafia faction night kill. You win when all members of the town have been eliminated or nothing can prevent this from occurring.

Discord was not setup properly, Mafia member saw the PR roles for town. Need to re-roll roles and get discord setup correctly before can launch.

Need Eden to show up to fix the discord issue because my incapable butt cannot do it, especially via a cell phone.

FWIW - first roll had the scum team of Damo/ghug/pyxxy with Chaqa as the doctor and Maniac as the cop.
