Strongman description?
Oh sorry, that's missing as it's a very standard role. But I should have included it.

I intend to use the standard Strongman with no tweaks. That is, when they use their action, the Mafia kill that night cannot be stopped by either Roleblock or any kind of Docsave or docsave-like power.

The Witch, if present, could still redirect the Strongman, which would have the effect of directing the unblockable Mafia kill onto a different target.
Can bodyguard stop it (redirect it)?
Great question.

No. The bodyguard cannot intercept the Strongman. If the Strongman uses a strongman kill on Bob, and Dave the bodyguard tries to protect Bob, the Strongman wins out, and Bob is killed.

What are the limits of research on the Lie Detector's question?

If I am scum and I have claimed VT and I say "I would never claim VT as scum," does that return false, since it's demonstrably false in this game? If I am town and make that claim, I don't assume you're going to go verify that through numerous other games, so what will the response be?
The phrase "I would never claim VT as scum" is not likely to produce a useful result, since it presumes future actions which cannot be verified. That is, saying "I would never do X" does not simply imply that you have not done X before, but also implies that you will not do X in the future, which it is not possible for the GM to verify as fact or fiction.

In general, claims related to a player's meta, or their motivations in previous games, are unlikely to yield satisfying results for a Lie Detector.
I understand that generally, but can you clarify for cases where general statements about meta/etc that are directly and clearly contradicted by actions/facts in this game?

So in my example, the player has made a statement that is clearly false, regardless of anything they have done before or will do in the future, or their meta or any other factor. For the sake of simple logic, it should return "FALSE."

A similar example would be if mafia said "I have never rolled scum." That's also a meta question that includes their entire game history—which you should not have to go look up as GM, obviously—but it's clearly disprovable in the current game.

However, the counter example of "I always claim VT as scum" would be indeterminate for the sake of the GM not having to look up old games.

If your answer is that questions regarding a players behavior, self-assessment, statements about themselves, or whatever are always going to be indeterminate (even if they can be clearly proved on way or the other by the facts at hand in this game), that's fine, it just needs to be clear so that when someone tries something clever, Town doesn't run off a cliff because they didn't realize the question was out of bounds.
This is fair.

If a scum player claimed VT, and also here in this game said "I have never fakeclaimed VT", the Lie Detector would be able to determine this as a lie.

However, imo, that would be a waste of the LD. It would inform the LD if an inaccuracy, but not the intentions or mind of the player who made the statement.

Does he go through Dave and kill both? Maybe all 3 get taken out?

This detector thing is a glorified cop. Where they present the cop with the option of screwing up.

If Warlock wins, does the game end and Town/Mafia both lose?

If not, then what does Warlock do after winning? Does he sail off to victory like the virus did last game?

Can Warlock choose to stick around and be a jerk?

In this set-up, if the 3p wins, the game ends.

GM NOTES:

A few clarifications:

1. The Mafia team will have a Factional roleblock, in addition to the abilities of their PRs.

2. If a Warlock or Witch achieves their win condition, the game ends with their victory, and both Town and Mafia have lost.

3. After some discussion regarding the interaction of roles, it occurred to us that a Tamperer should, in theory, be able to interfere with a Bloodhound.

Thus, the TAMPERER role is slightly amended, as follows:

Tamperer - TWICE per game, at night, you may visit a player and place misleading evidence upon them. If they are investigated that night, this will have the following effects:
- The Vanilla Cop will read the target as "Not Vanilla" irrespective of the truth.
- The Cop will read the target as "Guilty" irrespective of the truth.
In addition if the target is hanged on the immediately following day, they will reveal as a Mafia Goon instead of their actual alignment.
- The Bloodhound will obtain a result which is the opposite of the truth (i.e. "Bloody" for someone who has not been involved in any kills, and "Not Bloody" for a killer).

4. The STRONGMAN role PM was missing from my initial post, and is:

Strongman - ONCE per game, you may activate your power and carry out the Mafia kill. When you do this, your kill cannot be roleblocked or stopped by any protective role.

Note on this role: The Strongman *can* be redirected by the Witch. This will cause the Strongman to be the member of the Mafia that makes the kill that night, even if the Mafia did not intend to activate the strongman that night, and will redirect the strongman to the target of the Witch's choice.

GM NOTE:

To predict any questions being asked about the way the setup has been determined, I can advise that we are going to select which roles are actually present in the game, utilising the following method:

1. Each GM will put on his Lucky Underpants.

2. One of the GMs will randomly roll the entire setup twice, using a D2 and a D3. The other GM will sit patiently and not interrupt him while this is taking place.

3. The other GM will pick which of the two resulting setups they consider will provide the best and/or most balanced game for you all.

4. ???

5. Profit!

Why not have both GMs roll the entire setup once and then throw D20s to determine whose roll is successful?
