How the fuck did Foxcastle survive the scum slip? Jesus christ.
Ok, I get that it's a bad look for me here, but everyone in the God thread and on the scum team had the benefit of knowing it was an actual slip, whereas everyone still playing saw it as a joke for which there was precedent. Even Jamie, who didn't like it, didn't like it because he thinks it's anti-town to joke about being scum (a point that gets a bit of credence here, even if it's still not one I agree with overall), not because he thought it was a slip.
It's true that of all the things I could have said, I got lucky with one that sounded like a joke.

Also, shout out to Bo for being a legit good player - he accidentally got the info thread and opened it and bowed out because of it.
Huh, how did that happen?
I think that was why they paused the game for a bit.
Yeah I think I was sent the same link, but fortunately it was deleted before I could open it.

Then with the subsequent scumreading I got from Nanook, Flum offered to cancel the game but I declined

But also, well done to therul for his first game as scum - despite his subbing out. His derpclearing was highly effective, considering how many people didn't scumread him.
Yeah, especially as we didn't coach him at all. It's a shame he dropped, he was doing really well til then.
I'm...not sure if it was intentional on his part either lol

Also, fun fact - I've never been a VT in all my mafia games. Scum or third party every time except one - when I was cop.

It sounds like you all had fun from what I'm reading in the mafia chat.

This was fun but FRUSTRATING! How could town have gotten a better sense of who their mates were? How to be better town?

Listen to the dead. Read the God QT to see what they're pointing out as obvious.

Read the scum QT to see how we planned things and to see Ezio freaking out about how I murdered HR lol

We did a pretty good job sniffing the PR's out anyway - though damo outing helped a lot in narrowing down Nanook and Bunny due to the massive buddying between the three of them. We did indeed think Nanook was the virus, which is why we killed Bunny. Worked out quite nicely though
This was intentional by Bunny. But I was expecting to be redpilled night 1. Didn't realize how close it got....

Well played, Goldfin - never managed to get anything going on you lmao

Sorry Jamie, should've given the leniency for Foxc and HR to you
I tried to set him up for you guys before I got to ascend.

(Disclaimer: I haven't read the God thread)

Don't listen to the dead. The dead in the God thread know too much to be useful. The dead predeath weren't on average any more right than anyone else.

Ghug is mostly right. Do not auto believe the dead. They didn't KNOW anything more than you do, unless they were PR. So look for that, yes... And read the Book(s) of the dead. But they aren't wise just because they died. Unless....

Who wants to reach out to uclabb?

I'm sure Kellin and wjessop are already playing regularly again, so we can get the whole crew back together.

It’s difficult to find the first scum. Once one flips you can change your scum hunting to look for connections and analyze wagons. Until then, you just have to find people who seem genuine in the moment, as townreading is easier than scumreading in the beginning. Get townreads.

As the thread probably begins to whither away and die, I'd like to ask, and open to all...how long have you played mafia in its various forms?
Do you feel like you fall into a pattern of behaviour depending on role?
Do you feel like you are a) a "good" player, b) still evolving, or c) chaotic enough to join games, have some fun, and sometimes get lucky?

@flum, thanks for the explanation of the genesis of the set-up on post 68 of the god thread. Still complicated for my head, but it sounds like you put a lot of thought into it and enjoyed watching how it played out. Thanks for creating and GMing.
