Is it someone "involved in the arts" but from a behind the scenes position? That is, a role such as a movie or theatre producer, the patron of one or more art galleries, etc?
Yes, that's a fair description.
Involved in the arts but not an entertainer. Hmmm.
That is an inference, but does not follow necessarily from the answers. They are not a British entertainer (but could still be an American entertainer, for example); and are not any of the types of entertainers listed; but it is still an open question whether they are any type of entertainer. I'm not saying that they ARE an entertainer and trying to lead you down this path, just clarifying what has and has not been established.

1. Living male.
2. Born before 1970.
3,6,9,10,13,15,17. American citizen, but born in the UK.
4. Not current or former head of state, cabinet member, or scientist; not former professional athlete.
7. Not a British entertainer.
8,18. Involved in the arts in a behind the scenes function.
5,11,12,14,16. Not author, musician, actor, architect, photographer, sculptor, filmmaker, dancer, fashion designer, or any type of visual artist.

Two questions left.

Not:
Arnold Schwarzenegger (damo666)

Those are all 20 questions. You all now have 5 guesses at who it might be. You'll want to focus on Q's #8,18,19 to find the answer.

So, to confirm, Quincy Jones and Phil Spector are not guesses?

If not there are still 5 guesses left.

I grant this is challenging but I think all the clues are there.

Hint: he has at least two immediate family members who have their own Wikipedia pages, and could easily be subjects of their own 20 Questions.

I'm going to officially guess Quincy Jones III, and if it's correct, I'll let Johnny Big Horse have it. I'm guessing you would have told us if that was the answer, but I'm really struggling to find anyone else.

Not Quincy Jones III. Pretty good guess, though, as he does tick many boxes.

Hint: our subject is older than Jones.

Four guesses left.

Oh wait, that might be my third question in a row, technically.

That is your third question/guess in a row. But as the intent of that rule is to avoid a player monopolizing a game and preventing others from buzzing in, and since there has been little activity in this game since the 20th question was answered, I’m going to exercise QM’ discretion and allow it.

Miles Copeland III is CORRECT! Famous in his own right as manager of the Police and Sting; and later as the founder of IRS records who discovered The Go-Go’s, Bangles, REM and many others; Copeland is also part of a famous family. Brother Stewart is the drummer for the Police (and my favourite drummer of all time) and father Miles Jr. was a legendary CIA agent whose work dictated who ruled what in the Middle East in the 1950’s.

Congratulations, Homonidae!

Thank you. I searched for "American record producers" until I found someone who was born in the UK.
