Is this character’s book likely to be on a banned/challenged book list in America? Examples of these would be To Kill a Mockingbird, 1984, Fahrenheit 451, etc. feel free to pass if the answer isn’t absolutely clear.
I could pass, as "likely to be banned" is very subjective (especially in today's Florida). But I'll answer it this way: it has not been banned as far as I've been able to find out.

1,2,7. Fictional human male.
3,4,5,6,9. First introduced in novel/book, from before 1993. The book was not a graphic novel, fantasy, horror, or science fiction; and has not been banned in America.
8. Has "E" in their full first name.

I normally would have passed on this. You ask "the" movie or TV show, as if it is known that there is only one. That exceeds the known information so far. But to atone for my earlier error, I will say that one or more of the movies and/or TV shows this character has appeared in has been nominated for an Oscar or Emmy.

15. Character was not in a war, or time of war.

Has any actor been nominated for an Oscar or Emmy for portraying this character (across any adaptations that have been made)?

(edit - though I don't think this is ambiguous, this question is intended to exclude anything besides "Best actor," "Best supporting actor," "Best actor in a miniseries," and so forth, so no best director, best adapted screenplay, best makeup, etc.)

Fair enough; I should have been more exact with my questioning.

Was a work that included this character nominated for an Oscar in 2005 or later (including the Oscars that took place in 2005)?

This looks like it fits. Good job, regardless of whether it's correct.

I’ve searched for a while, having nothing better to do at my desk… that’s all I could come up with in searching best selling book lists of the 70’s 80’s and 90’s and matching them to TV adaptations.

FWIW Gordie is a nickname and - while ultimately up to the QM to interpret the question - I think in the past the question about there being an "E" would refer to actual, legal first names and not nicknames. (Real name is Gordon)

I considered this, but did not know the history of this situation. Not sure if I should scratch this or not
