That moment when...

#1 Post by dargorygel » Thu Apr 25, 2019 1:02 pm

... checking move orders (for some unknown reason, having finalized my moves LONG ago...) I discovered that what was SUPPOSED to be a move to "Vienna" was actually ordered to "Venice." That could have been disastrous. Imagine trying to sell THAT reason to Italy... "Oh,I didn't MEAN to swipe that SC, despite our pages of negotiation... really... you can TRUST ME..."

And it caused me to wonder if there are any other map places like this. I know the extreme mathematical mind will scoff (hi Claesar) but for the rest of us hurried folk... I am old enough to have played on the original map which had a Tunis and a Tunisian sea... For instance
For some reason I don't struggle with the Norway, Norwegian sea, north sea situation...

No, I have this problem all the time. My main bane is Armenia and Ankara. Never get them right.

At a FtF tournament I once opened Paris to Piedmont, but the TD had mercy on me and adjuncated as Picardy.

For reasons I can't explain I manage to confuse St Petes and Sev in messages on a regular basis. Thankfully it's easier to spot than the Ven Vie

Yeah, but Ezio was in that game. All normal expectations are to be exceeded or ignored.
