1v1 map idea, England vs. Turkey

We have Germany vs. Italy and France vs. Austria, would England vs. Turkey be balanced? I'm relatively new to Diplomacy strategy, so I would like to hear from others how this would play out.

I’m not much better with diplomacy strategizing, but it may make an awkward stalemate line between the two, plus they are so far away there’s not going to be much contact. Still, I’m not good at the game, so I could be wrong.

I do think it would be funny if poor Russia was left out of the 1v1'ing fun.

vDiplomacy has a variant for England versus Turkey:

The starting position of the English units is different that normal and according to the stats England has won more games.

I think Turkey would have a very significant advantage, similar to Germany's advantage over Italy in 1v1. Maybe even larger. Turkey has a much more efficient path at picking up centers while contesting the main stalemate points than England does. In fact it may be impossible for England to win against a well-played Turkey in 1v1 in their natural starting positions.

Hence the adjustment on vdip, but that tilts it too far in the other direction, since it gifts England a difficult to dislodge center across the stalemate line by letting them get to Tunis before Turkey can (unless Turkey foregoes its 3rd build in year one, but even then they will just be bouncing in Tunis forever and clogging up Ionian).
