Re: Introducing the first ever webDiplomacy Terminator Tournament!

Here is some statistics, so far. 108 games have been completed. That's about a third of all the games in the first round. Solo rate so far is 33%. It seems very likely that the cutoff for the second round will be 400 pts. With maybe 15-20 people tied... Which country is the easiest to play? Well, t...

Re: Introducing the first ever webDiplomacy Terminator Tournament!

Realistically they're not going to put the bot update on hold for one trial tournament, and forcibly restarting would suck. Seems like the best compromise to a latecoming outsider with no dog in the fight yet :^)

If it's not too late, put me in the game coach. ***Will submit formal application once I figure out the right countries to pick***

Re: AI bots on webDiplomacy: Skynet edition!

@smart people: were the bots trained using a lot of games from the site generally or were they focused on specific users / games? I have a hunch that the bots' behavior loosely represents the historical webDiplomacy metagame up until the end of their training. Their behavior might reflect general tr...

Re: People that set multiple alarm clocks

I set 4-5 that are spaced out 15 minutes apart starting an hour before I actually need to be up, because I know myself enough to know I'm not getting up on time. Ironically I post this having woken up a full 6 hours early today. Also, I live alone, and would never subject someone else to this brand ...

Re: AI bots on webDiplomacy: Skynet edition!

AI Austria is faithful to a fault to human Italian players that don't attack it right off the bat. I've run nearly the exact same strategy with Italy now, where I execute a slightly delayed Lepanto and show friendship to Jane while it gets entrenched with AI Russia and AI Turkey. Austria rewards thi...

Well, probably because they come across like assholes on dating apps.
You're awfully presumptuous about people you don't even know. Must be nice to know everything. :eyeroll:

Re: Tinder

naw, you just kinda have to not be an asshole. I'm sure the vast majority of men who struggle to be successful on Tinder are just assholes and none of the many women who use it successfully are :eyeroll: I'm a man who uses it successfully. Men are just kinda shit at doing basic shit like hygiene an...

Re: Tinder

Is this app supposed to suck? Every girl has 2 of the following: 1. #Daddygang in bio (what does that even mean?) 2. Dog picture/ Dog momma, and claiming to only swipe right on dogs 3. Nose piercing (no hate but they all have the exact same thing.) And they all claim to love hiking which I call bs....

Re: The Anti-France Meta

I'm loathe to even say it because I fear the potential of future exploitation, but I virtually never cover Brest. I don't think most English players have the balls to go for Brest if a unit is around to defend it. The safer play is to move to MAO if you want to advance against France, since outside ...

Re: Tinder

I assumed most girls who instantly want you to add them on insta or Snapchat just want a higher follower count. I don’t even use those. Insta is basically Facebook but more pictures right? also been hit with this a decent number of times. I'm sure there's some real reasons for wanting to switch ove...

Re: Tinder

I don't see what's wrong with adding them on Snap or Insta that's way more likely to continue the conversation. Why would you unnecessarily jump through an extra hoop to talk to somebody who is supposedly already interested in you? 9/10 I won't meet a guy off tinder unless I have his insta or somet...

Re: The Anti-France Meta

I hosted two gunboat round robin sets of games among thirteen top-100 GR players (one duplicate). The first seven sets completed recently. Claesar was kind enough to compile some relevant data in a Google spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1MElmHp7c-b3kjaXxNzgjVpDB1NsmnEdIsqP3ZLej0A...
