Re: Useless facts

Shakespeare and Cervantes died in the same date (April 23rd, 1616), but not in the same day.
In 1616 Spain had already adopted the Gregorian calendar, but England not yet, so in Spain April 23rd, 1616 was ten days before than in England.

Every useless fact can be found at www.uselessfacts.net
From it: "Switzerland is the only country with a square flag" is not true. Vatican City has a square flag, too.

Re: Clarification on order resolution

Last thing: in the second scenario, because of the standoff, B couldn't retire to E (and neither, of course, to A).

Re: Clarification on order resolution

Thanks, Carl. So, correct me if I am wrong: B->A fails not because of a standoff, but because B is dislodged by an attack coming from A. So, even if there was no D->A, B couldn't go to A. (The famous rule "A dislodged unit has no effect on the province that dislodged it"). On the other hand, a dislo...

Clarification on order resolution

In a game I've played, we had these orders: Country Alpha: A->B C support A->B D->A Country Beta: B->A These orders were resolved this way: the Beta unit in B tries to go to A, but is standoffed by Alpha unit moving from D. Then, the Beta unit in B is dislodged by the attack from A, supported from C...

Re: Travel Destinations

Best place I've ever been is surely Cambodia. Angkor is really unique.

I liked a lot also Norway. I've been there in August, lushly green, waterfalls everywhere, and the fjords are wonderful.

Re: Changed RR, Missed Turns, and Game Create

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand that if a player doesn't enter his orders, and has no excused missed turn left, his country goes into civil disorder, the player is substituted, but the phase is restarted, and not played with all his units on hold. This way, the phase could go on forever, w...

Re: why are my support holds failing??

And what about this case:
A support hold B.
B is ordered to move to C, but can't actually move because of a standoff.

So does the support of A count, in case somebody else attacks B, or is it cut?
