Brisbane now has a f2f Diplomacy scene! We had our 1st game last weekend. The plan is to get together every couple of months. Next one planned for late September. Sign up at https://diplomacygames.com/brisbane

Yes please, join the daanz-mailing list and not that silly facebook thing. The daanz-mailing list is the canonical place for diplomacy organising in Australia/New Zealand.

http://daanz.org/email_zines.htm

(Um, just realised that Will Black is no longer the person to contact about the list (as the website states) - I am - I'll hopefully get that changed soon).

P.S. If you're in Brisbane, I hope you meet up with Kaner and Amby from the diplomacygames podcast to get some FtF games going there.

What if you abhor Facebook for the evil multinational data-sucking totalitarian company that it is?
Any alternative?

Hello!

I am an Aussie from Brisbane.

I recently have not been very active due to outside issues.
I am hoping to change that in the following year, as such i would be up for any games held soon as I am avaliable for them.

Also if we would like to make the Australian and New Zealand community stronger, could we make a easier way to communicate and talk to each other? Perhaps use another comminication medium such as discord?

It would allow for definitive numbers as to how many players we have and also allow easier communication about live and full press games.

We could perhaps even try a little tournament for us if we had interest? Is that even allowed?
That depends on whether it requires help from moderators. If not, of course it's allowed. If it's something I can do easily, no problem. Otherwise, you'll need to fill in some forms and wait for approval.
Oooh forms, when did the moderating team move out of the dark ages and get fancy?

I do like the sound of that

Same as above, one or two moderns could be fun. I honestly would be happy to pretty much one of these games going at all times.

We could perhaps even try a little tournament for us if we had interest? Is that even allowed?

Yea I think keep in JRoz however I'm more than happy to have Wusti and MaxiTaxi in a match, it might even make things slightly more interesting. I don't see both of them living past 1903 if they're next to each other :-D I'm keen to create another classic game at one point, I don't play variants very often bus I guess I could stretch to modern

I think you should keep Jroz in. If you organise a different Aussie/Kiwi game I'll be in that!

My verdict as an impartial spectator is this:
Maxi dropped out. Therefore, JRoz was invited. You should host a Classic game with JRoz. However, all who join the Classic game must agree to also participate in the Modern game (with Maxi).

Of course you're under no obligation to follow my advice ;)

Well if we have 8 - we just need 2 more to have a game of modern with 10 players!

I dropped out because I realised I would be playing with Wusti, my father. I'm happy to play if that is alright with everyone though...

I’m fine in principle - but when maxi dropped out I hit up JRoz as the other person who expressed interest in the thread. Doesn’t seem fair on JRoz or maxi to miss out - so now I don’t really know what to do...
