So you also find HB suspicious?ghug wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 1:39 amI disagree with both of these takes?worcej wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 1:15 amI guess I am still in joke phase mode and didn’t think anything from it personally.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 1:11 amOk so anyway, I will address why I said it was "slight sus" of Hamilton Brian to start numbering his posts.
Basically it just looks like try-harding. That is, the vibe I instinctively got from it was of someone being a little bit too eager to earn brownie points early; a little too eager to show that they'd read the rules and knew 10 posts were required. Maybe it's nothing, but I got a bad vibe from it.
Might be the wrong vibe - but I think HB wants to try and demonstrate he is actively playing? Remembering prior games, he is usually near the bottom on post counts.

Ooof lol…

Oh man, I cannot remember the exact game but know I have thrown some stinkers. But then sometimes I pitch a decent game but our relievers screw us up (the last game I played)Kakarroto wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 6:18 amwith the last game we played together, I totally could see you doing this if you were day-vig. And to top the comedy value, Jamie then flipping PRworcej wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 12:49 amCE version of myself would laugh if this happened again lolJamiet99uk wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 9:12 pmGood afternoon, Fellow Townies. It is I, Jamie the T.
Please do not shoot me in the face today.
Don't take it personally but that wasn't your best game, I hope you have learned from it. Well, only if you are town, if not, please make all the mistakes you want
At the very least I am trying to be more conscious of not tunneling my takes and am at least trying to take a step back and reassess as the game goes along.
Re: M1024: Panhandlin' [GAME THREAD]
I think 4 mafia is off the table - town would only have 1 MK and then it would be effectively MyLo on D2.Kakarroto wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 7:17 amAlright, caught up.
As I said, I had some thoughts about what we might can derive from the information we have.
That is: the player number (and names). As worcej said, we are 12 players (though how many didn't post yet, do they know the game has started?). We don't know more.
Typically, mafia know each other at the start, right? But I was thinking and this doesn't have to be 100% true, at least for D1, maybe it's a setting where they only get to know each other at the start of N1. So maybe my thoughts here hurt town a bit by giving mafia ideas, but I think it's negligible, since it's still likely they start with this information.
So, 12 players, right? If we think there is no 3rd party, normal range should be from 2 to 4, probably 3. I don't like how worcej directly jumped on the number being 3, in his post about it, but then again, it looks the most likely, no? It would be 1/4th of the whole population so mathematically it makes sense.
However, there are some variations, since Mafia could have extremely strong roles and only be two, right? Or Mafia have no roles but the numbers and town have a load of PR's. Sure, this is all speculation, but Chaqa said before, he very much liked it and wanted to play it (and correct me if I'm wrong but Chaqa likes more role heavy settings, right?).
I know for D1 this doesn't make any difference, but I'd like to mention it here for the future, with the power of hindsight and more knowledge of roles from the flips. Depending on which information we get we should get a better picture of the setting and keep rethinking, not being stuck with only one view.
Therefore, I like thoughts about these situations, especially ghug and Jamie, but everyone is welcome to add theirs (and I would most appreciate that):
-) 2 mafia, both with powerful roles, 1/6th ratio
-) 3 mafia, probably mixed, 1/4th ratio
-) 4 mafia, powerless, 1/3rd ratio
depending on what town has available as roles, I personally think 2 or 4 mafia are still on the table (though the 1/3rd ratio make me take a step back). If we have only 2 mafia with powerful roles, I think a 3rd party is possible, maybe even likely. If we have 4 mafia, then town should have a load of power roles.
Well, anyway, don't speculate on what town PR's we might have or their exact count, try to focus on the mafia team with your thoughts you write in here.
Also, maybe the GM's should remember those who haven't posted that the game began. Remember, one of the rules is that non-participation is automatic mod-kill and people will not get replaced for that.

If anything, all my actions were more shading if Jamie then HB - kinda shocked you missed that one.

Cute.
Not going to engage with this, though. If you want to engage with me you'll have to talk normally and not in code.

I do not know.rdrivera2005 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 3:23 amI think this game is supposed to be a mini and I don't remember a mini with a third party, so my guess is we don't have one.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 9:26 pm
There is absolutely no way of anybody knowing that unless they are Third Party.
Jamiet, do you think a 3rd party Kak will start the game asking about 3rd party?

Disagree. Mafia are just as capable as town when it comes to weird or sub-optimal plays.Kakarroto wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 6:35 amto be fair, brain pushed this information onto us multiple times in the sign up thread, so that might be why it made an impression (I mean I even responded to that that neither rd nor bozo confirmed the 10 post at each day minimum, though I'm glad that I misunderstood that both would be eliminated for that).Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 1:11 amOk so anyway, I will address why I said it was "slight sus" of Hamilton Brian to start numbering his posts.

Personally, I see it at annoying because it feels like those posts aren't meant as fully honest and are just there to push up the post number. Then again, would mafia do something like that? Normally town people do dumb sh ... things, but not so much mafia, right?

Re: M1024: Panhandlin' [GAME THREAD]
that's ... an interesting and at the same time frightening idea. I don't like the possibility of that. This could be easily one of the most overpowered mafia actions I can think of.

hm, fair point. I guess that makes it unlikely.
