Game drawn
14 Jul 12 UTC [South-Africa]:So, I'm starting to worry that this pause is dragging on so long that, if it ends, we won't have the full focus of the players when it resumes. People seem to be losing interest, and that doesn't make for a good game.

On the other hand, many players have invested a good deal of time and energy into this game, and that should mean at least a little something.

I am starting to feel that we should draw this with the remaining players, rather than have a perpetual pause or risk CDs and/or careless play by forcing the game to resume. Does anyone else feel the same way?
15 Jul 12 UTC [Western-Canada]:Argentina will return in one week. I'm happy to pick the game up then or draw. I'll throw my draw vote and let everyone else decide.
15 Jul 12 UTC [Frozen-Antarctica]:I want to give it more time. This has been a fun one. And I'd like to eliminate South Africa before we draw.
15 Jul 12 UTC [Frozen-Antarctica]:That was a joke, btw. My prior statements still stand. Just a joke.
15 Jul 12 UTC [China]:I'd be happy with a draw - the pause has been too long, honestly, and I've lost a lot of my interest.
15 Jul 12 UTC [Near-East]:But I am enjoying this pause so much. I feel very engaged with the realism behind how long this move is taking. xD

I would be content either way.
16 Jul 12 UTC [Quebec]:As you wish. I must confess I am losing interest, too. So I'd be happy with a draw.
But as I committed to the game, if the games continues, I'll make sure to stay focused.
16 Jul 12 UTC [China]:Aye, if it continues I'll drag myself back into it, but I don't know if that's actually going to happen.
20 Jul 12 UTC [Kenya]:at the end we would wait for the same people to draw as to unpause...

But its really annoying to see this game stay for this long time...
20 Jul 12 UTC [South-Africa]:Well, it looks like of all those who have votes up, only FA, Kenya, and PR are not interested in the draw. Meanwhile, Libya, USA, and Argentina are MIA.

How does one resolve a situation like this? Is there anything the mods can do, or should do?
21 Jul 12 UTC [Frozen-Antarctica]:I would like to save the game, if possible. This was a fun one.
21 Jul 12 UTC [Western-Canada]:Give it time, folks. The pause was enacted for vacation/ etc reasons. If this hasn't been resolved by September, then we should worry about external solutions. We can ask the mods to contact those who haven't drawn/unpaused, and go from there.
21 Jul 12 UTC [South-Africa]:Works for me, WC.
22 Jul 12 UTC [USA]:back!
23 Jul 12 UTC [Kenya]:USA as you are back, press the unpause button ^^

@SA: I'm not completely against a draw. But as i said, the same people not coming to unpause the game need to come to draw the game as well.
I would more like to see the people reactivate and play this game...

The plan of WC sounds good to me even it takes a long time...
24 Jul 12 UTC [Argentina]:back
24 Jul 12 UTC [Pacific-Russia]:how long was it since this game paused
haha
24 Jul 12 UTC [Frozen-Antarctica]:Come on Libya and Near East!
25 Jul 12 UTC [Pacific-Russia]:I think one must consider whether one should vote 'pause' ever again in the world variant. I'm a cool guy and for the Europe variant, I don't even think about it if someone really needs a pause. But I learned from this. Reconsider the vote for 'pause' and all the reasons why it would be unreasonable to vote for it.

Lesson learned!
25 Jul 12 UTC [South-Africa]:Yeah, if I ever make a World game in the future I think I will stipulate no pauses. They are just such a pain to implement and undo with 17 people.
26 Jul 12 UTC [Near-East]:Unpaused sorry!
26 Jul 12 UTC [Frozen-Antarctica]:One more!
26 Jul 12 UTC [Western-Canada]:I'm on my mobile this week. Would anyone mind digging the messages archive to check on Libya? How long is he supposed to be out?
28 Jul 12 UTC [Argentina]:A
30 Jul 12 UTC [Brazil]:Folks, even if this game does eventually unpause, I can guarantee you that about 50% will NMR in Fall 2006. This game has been paused for over two months as I recollect, an unreasonable length of time by any reckoning. When/if it resumes, it will not be a fair or reasonable situation for those of us who have stuck it out when the mass of NMRs next season occur. This game should be cancelled (or at least drawn) IMHO.
30 Jul 12 UTC [Kenya]:but plenty of people still be active writing here during the pause time.

Should one get a information about Libya by the admins?
Noone knows if he may stopped playin diplo in general...
30 Jul 12 UTC [India]:I'm cancelling my unpause vote, because I'm actually gone this week. I'll reinstate it at the end of the week. Last thing I want, though, is to find out I CDed because this game started up again.
30 Jul 12 UTC [Ghana]:So is this game ever going to start back up again? This is getting a little bit ridiculous, to say the least.
30 Jul 12 UTC [Western-Canada]:We can always wait until September when most trips and RL should be ending. We can even take a roll call vote now to establish September 1st the unpause day. I just want to be friendly to everyone involved. If even an eighth wanted to how out, I'd be willing to draw or find replacements.
31 Jul 12 UTC [India]:I agree with Brazil that the game should not resume, but I will put my unpause vote back when I return.
31 Jul 12 UTC [China]:Yeah, so, I'm leaving for Australia for four months in September. I may or may not have internet. This is only part of the reason I'd prefer to just draw at this point.
31 Jul 12 UTC [Frozen-Antarctica]:Ugh. Maybe we should just draw.
Was an interesting experiment.
02 Aug 12 UTC [South-Africa]:So... we have draws from everyone but Kenya, USA, and Libya. And unpauses from everyone but Libya, Brazil, and India.
03 Aug 12 UTC [Kenya]:Unpause of India will come back.
Whats about Brazil?
03 Aug 12 UTC [South-Africa]:Looks like we now have a draw vote from Libya. That leaves Kenya and USA for draw, and same old three for unpause.
04 Aug 12 UTC [Argentina]::)
06 Aug 12 UTC [Kenya]:lol no unpause by Libya but draw.

Seems that game will never be started again...
draw vote by me.
06 Aug 12 UTC [Frozen-Antarctica]:Okay, calling USA. Let's put it to bed.
07 Aug 12 UTC [Kenya]:*snif*
South Africa still in game - lucky guy ;D
07 Aug 12 UTC [Frozen-Antarctica]:LOL
08 Aug 12 UTC [Western-Canada]:USA, please draw. (someone post this once a day until he does. If no one else does, I will. RL is happening and I want my obligations, this game being one, cleared. Sorry, USA, not trying to be rude. Just don't want to disrespect the board by my own disappearance.)
10 Aug 12 UTC [Western-Canada]:USA, please draw.
11 Aug 12 UTC [India]:USA, please draw.
11 Aug 12 UTC [Brazil]:He's dead, Jim.

We might want to try emailing webdipmod@gmail.com and asking them to draw the game for us.
11 Aug 12 UTC [Western-Canada]:Be USA's guest, Brazil.
13 Aug 12 UTC [Kenya]:or to unpause it ;D
13 Aug 12 UTC [Western-Canada]:No. I will not allow an unpause while my neighbor is MIA again. One NMR was bad enough of a setback.
14 Aug 12 UTC [Western-Canada]:Why am I not surprised to find SA was Tasnica?

Sjrd, Ninja, thanks for the NA triple. Fun time.

Everyone else, thanks for the experiment. 'twas quite enjoyable and I look forward to playing you all again in the future.
14 Aug 12 UTC [South-Africa]:It was a fun experiment! Good game, all.
15 Aug 12 UTC [Quebec]:Yep! Good game, everyone :-) Thanks.
