28 Sep 11 UTC I'm talking about when Germany got higher up; I understand you doing me though.
28 Sep 11 UTC Ah well, ok, in short, our triple was working fine right? But I knew I had to do something if I wanted to go solo, so I started to try create a break between you and England
28 Sep 11 UTC initially, but when he got to fifteen, you should have changed course.
28 Sep 11 UTC Telling him that you talked about a 2-way draw and that I didn't trust you etc. then I went over to pre=preemptively striking you and England took the bait
28 Sep 11 UTC Well, I told you I was willing to go a 2-way draw and that we should work out England at some point, my intentions were just to try to get one to attack the other
28 Sep 11 UTC I understand England choosing to attack me. It could have gone eitherway. But, at fifteen he should have reversed course. Anyway, on an attack on me you benefit the most.
28 Sep 11 UTC After that I tried to stay friendly with both of you for as long as possible, taking Austria, and right up to the end, not offending anyone enough to attack me and the other might follow suite
28 Sep 11 UTC Yea, BUT, you gotta realize my positions against England were not bad, so if he had stabbed me, I would go to you and we would be working against England
28 Sep 11 UTC If he attacked you, he had guys ready. That is the one problem with a triple. England gets stuck fast. We did play a great triple though!
28 Sep 11 UTC Reversing isn't that simple. You could(ve just continued you attacks on me...
28 Sep 11 UTC I suppose you both knew I was going for Solo, but I made it a pleasant experience right? Feeding hope along the way, sowing distrust..
28 Sep 11 UTC We made progress really, really fast. I even had Italy oking the fleet build in MAR.
28 Sep 11 UTC We made progress really, really fast. I even had Italy oking the fleet build in MAR.
28 Sep 11 UTC Well, I think it helps I was pretty much true to my word with England, I helped him get centers, didn't get greedy in start
28 Sep 11 UTC If I hadn't misordered my move on NAP. I could have build F BRE to counter. Then I think I would have made more progress.
28 Sep 11 UTC Yea, and I had Austria long enough calm, though with better skilled players triple would have beem called out in global and we would have been stalled
28 Sep 11 UTC Well, you were at 10 just as me. It wasn't like I was running away. I was trying to keep up with you!
28 Sep 11 UTC Well, I would have stopped your progress, helping England,
28 Sep 11 UTC You're right. A/T/R/I never worked together. You automatically do that when you see the triple.
28 Sep 11 UTC True, though suppose England thought otherwise, you have to realize I helped him at his centers in Russia though
28 Sep 11 UTC Yea, exactly
28 Sep 11 UTC I agree. That is the problem with the triple. That stupid NAP build. I'll be regretting that today.
28 Sep 11 UTC Ah well, was fun game, but there should be more high bet games, to decrease the beginning players rating
28 Sep 11 UTC I could have easily gone with Austria after that, but...oh well.
28 Sep 11 UTC You know...I wonder if England was as frustrated at your lack of moves agianst me as I was with you.
28 Sep 11 UTC That's also true, why didn't you? I thought you must have realized I had set England up against you, or at least that I agreed, England wouldn't make such a move without my permission
28 Sep 11 UTC haha, dunno, I kept saying you told me he wanted to fight against me so I was on my guard
28 Sep 11 UTC that was my excuse the whole time, and I helped him in Russia getting 1 center over all that time..
28 Sep 11 UTC To tell you the truth, my focus was on Atlantic and I thought I could convince you to turn back. Didn't work though.
28 Sep 11 UTC Yea, well, if I had done that might still have gotten solo, but would have been much harder, especially with Turkey and Austria in game
28 Sep 11 UTC This was much easier this way
28 Sep 11 UTC The only thing that wasn't a misorder was VEN-ROM. It would have been close, but I might have made it.
28 Sep 11 UTC I just got to get better. Any tips on time mangaement?
28 Sep 11 UTC What it would have taken really is for you and England to fight against may without doubts, though England wouldn't trust you knowing he had stabbed you and you would do the same..
28 Sep 11 UTC Hmm, not really, just refresh Board alot so you can answer quickly, and well, I guess you'll get used the time
28 Sep 11 UTC in the beginning you have to talk alot, but few orders, later on you have to talk less but more orders, so it balances out
28 Sep 11 UTC Might want to play some live gunboat with highbets to kickstart your capitcal, so you can play higher bet live games..
28 Sep 11 UTC I would have gone with him, but I understand the desire to go all the way when you stab. On playdiplomacy as Germany, I just did a stab that I went from 10 to 17 on one turn. I'm obviously not turning back.
28 Sep 11 UTC Hahaha, woaw, how did you manage to set that up?
28 Sep 11 UTC Thanks! It was a fun game. I played one last night as Germany and didn't get my moves in Spring 01. I just held. It was bad. I just screwed with people the rest of the game.
28 Sep 11 UTC A very unsuspecting England if you go to playdiplomacy and search for live games under umbletheheep you'll find it. I think the site is down now though.
28 Sep 11 UTC always fun to screw around a little, though I am really akin to play a higher skilled game, this wasn't really a challenge, mainly cause of the other powers and EvW
28 Sep 11 UTC Ow
28 Sep 11 UTC Nice move
28 Sep 11 UTC I don't think I'll ever duplicate the players were not that good anyway. I had some nice moves in this game. Were you every thinking about going for PIE to get into my territory?
28 Sep 11 UTC By the way, the reason he got into BRE was that strange misordering that it did for two years.
28 Sep 11 UTC No, I wanted to Take Venice and from there Italy, but the fact I had no fleets there was troubling
28 Sep 11 UTC And wasn't really willing to break you until I was quite secure
28 Sep 11 UTC Good game. Hopefully another time.
28 Sep 11 UTC Ay, cya round
