31 Aug 10 UTC Spring, 1907: Time to make a move for my comeback!
31 Aug 10 UTC Spring, 1907: I'm with you. Fascists, let us conquer the world!
01 Sep 10 UTC Spring, 1907: Sunmi, why are you voting to cancel this game???
01 Sep 10 UTC Spring, 1907: Four powers standing strong,
Facing each other with trepidation,
Wondering what will happen next.
01 Sep 10 UTC Spring, 1907: oops. strange things happen when I try to enter my moves with my phone.
01 Sep 10 UTC Spring, 1907: whoa. everyone except Germany is logged on right now.
01 Sep 10 UTC Spring, 1907: Hello everyone!!!
01 Sep 10 UTC Spring, 1907: good night everyone!!!
02 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1907: Check out this EPIC comeback win (from 1 SC!):

02 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1907: Good game, Chris. Thanks for making (and missing) some crucial moves!
07 Sep 10 UTC Spring, 1909: My true Allies, my true Enemies, you've devoured me. I hope it was delicious.
08 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1909: Sultan, you finally made it to your vacation spot in the Tuscan hills. It's wonderful in the fall and I'm sure you'll love it there. I am however saddened that your vacation had to come at the cost of mine being abruptly cut short and my fleet being destroyed.
08 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1909: Hello rulers of Europe. I hope I find you all in good spirits!

The King needs to attend a royal function 2 days post this next move and will not be in a position to contact his armies or fleets. In the interest of fair play would everyone be willing to pause this little battle until the weekend (post this move)?

Thank you all very much,

The King
08 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1909: A pause is fine with me, let's pause the game immediately after the fall deadline.
08 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1909: Thanks Ye. Hopefully it will be fine with others?!
08 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1909: We'll see. I believe you mentioned something about bringing back chocolates....?
09 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1909: I heard they have very good toblerone fruits and nuts while crossing the atlantic.
09 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1909: oh, I didn't mean to end your vacation early. I thought I was invited into tuscany, you know.
09 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1909: Toblerone, isn't that from Switzerland? Extending your travels into the forbidden lands?
09 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1909: Good game, Dave. Thanks for putting up a fight against the AT advance
09 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1909: So, I wonder what happens if everyone readies their orders during a pause game. I'm guessing that it just stays paused on the same phase, but immediately progresses to the next phase once unpaused, but it wouldn't really be a big issue if it did allow progression during a pause provided that everyone was ready.
10 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1909: I found an example looking through the other active games. It turns out that the game does not advance if everyone readies during a pause:

11 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1909: hey everyone, thanks for pausing. I am ready to play again!!! :-)
13 Sep 10 UTC Spring, 1910: welcome back everyone!!!!
16 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1911: Interesting moves, Sunmi. What are You up to?
16 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1911: haha. so nothing happened in the spring, huh?
16 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1911: nothing too notable except for your maneuvers into Venice and Serbia. I wonder where those armies are headed
17 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1911: Wow, we're all online
17 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1911: Sunmi, despite your attempts to get England and France to betray each other, we are staying united and strong.
17 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1911: That's not what it looks like from an impartial observer.... Anyways you need to switch it up, otherwise you may as well just draw.
17 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1911: So what does it look like it to you Italy?
17 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1911: Support to Livonia? WTF is that?
17 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1911: Italy:
1) I don't think you are "impartial". You may have the desire to see the alliances shift. Also, your best interests of seeing an "exciting" game doesn't necessarily align with the remaining players' best interests of maximizing their result.
2) I don't think you have analyzed the board very carefully. The action and tactical maneuvers may be subtle, but they are certainly not boring, nor is the front necessarily locked up from both sides.
18 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1911: well to that I have to say, go maximize your result!
18 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1911: whoa, I thought the wrong message board was uploaded for a sec.

Nice to see Italy around!!!

I am enjoying my vacation in the Mediterranean.
Why don't you invite the King to Spain and show him around, France?
We should all get along in the south.
Let's have a party!
28 Sep 10 UTC Spring, 1914: Hey everyone, I'm going to be out of town for a conference from Tuesday until Friday night. I'll probably be able to get my moves in, but I'm still voting for a pause since it would make things a bit easier.
28 Sep 10 UTC Autumn, 1914: oops I missed the turn.
voting for pause eh?
Last time I agreed there was supposed to be some chocolate, wasn't there?
No diplomat has sent a box of chocolate to Turkey.
So I'll have to think about it.

besides, all france does is hold.
I can enter your moves in beibei. I know what you'll be doing. :p
29 Sep 10 UTC i'll say it again, GO MAXIMIZE YOUR RESULTS!
29 Sep 10 UTC Hahahahaha,,, seems like both ben and allie missed the turn.
I propose a draw. c'mon guys.
30 Sep 10 UTC we did NOT miss our turn TURKEY. We selected "pause" as Ye asked us to. Unlike SOME people!!! x-(
30 Sep 10 UTC ha, is this your first time here?
30 Sep 10 UTC I sometimes check the game on my phone, but I don't really have the time to properly play. I would have notified Ben and Allie about the impending deadline and lack of pause, but I just wasn't able to do so in time.

Sunmi, please put in a pause vote. We already wasted 1914. It seems that Ben was aware of the impending deadline, but chose to show some sportsmanship by letting the turn pass without capitalizing on Allie's absence.

To be frank, I do think a 4-way draw is likely at this point and I am fine with that. However, we haven't voted for a draw yet since it's not entirely impossible for us not to breakthrough. We're not just wasting time here, we're trying to maximize our result. Let's all have lunch early next week in order to discuss things. Okay?
30 Sep 10 UTC I understand that you're not comfortable with the connection that you are getting while you are away and the need for a pause. but honestly, it seems that you are able to check the map more frequently. (Which is why I think you e-mailed me today, which also made me to check the map.) I don't appreciate your comment on how I caused allie to miss the last turn, beibei. we all make our own decisions not to vote for a draw, or place the game on lower priority then missing a turn. Don't try to bully me into a pause. you're not being diplomatic about it. :p

This game is going to drag on forever. Even if England and France can break through Austria, do you think the western alliance will be able to continue the war until both Austria and Turkey are eliminated? I somehow don't think that will happen in 2010. England could run out of patience and decide to win the never ending game after all. haha.

as for lunch next week, I don't think I'll have time, not to mention that I will be out of town from Wed till Sun.
01 Oct 10 UTC Thanks for pausing. Let's try to resume when we can all be ready to play. Sorry, I thought that I would have a better internet connection, but it didn't turn out that way and it's also been pretty hectic. I may check the map every now and then, but the internet is really spotty and I don't really have the time to properly think about the game or communicate.

I don't get why you didn't want to pause once everyone else voted for it. I'm just a bit surprised that you let the deadline expire before pausing when it clearly seemed that two other players (one of them being your ally) weren't ready for the turn to progress. What's going on with Allison? Why has she been AWOL?

How do you get off calling ME the bully? I requested the pause, for a legitimate reason, and you were the one holding out and forcing me to continue checking the map. It also seemed like you were using withholding the pause as a diplomatic tool in order to try to induce the draw, as you were quick to point out Allie and Ben missing the turn as a reason for settling for a draw.

Another reason why I wasn't ready to vote for the draw just yet, is that the campaign for the draw seems completely unilateral. I haven't heard anything directly from Allison about wanting a draw. She never put in a vote for it, so I have no idea what she really wants from the game. For all I know, she just wants to continue on. Allison, what do you want from this game?

I think there has definitely been a communication breakdown in the game between the two alliances. I think it would be really good if we could all just sit down face to face and talk a bit to try to resolve things. If you can't make lunch, could you at least spare maybe 20-30 minutes to talk? I think a short meeting could greatly improve our enjoyment of the game and clear the air about some issues.
04 Oct 10 UTC Bei Bei,
it's really quite simple why I didn't vote pause especially when my ally hasn't entered her move.
I put it off when I entered my moves, then didn't check the map till after it was due. I had no idea that allie hadn't entered the move. Things are very hectic for me these days, and I forget to check the map two three times a day. I missed my move prior to the one when allie and ben missed. didn't I?

Look, I wanted draw because this game is dragging. I don't know why Allie hasn't said anything on the board. I called you a bully cause I got pissed off at the email that you sent.

I'm leaving super early on Wednesday morning.
I'll see you all next week.
