Spring, 1901: Moderator: (dargorygel): I did not make it in time to get a slot... but i CAN use my mod powers and write pithy wise annoying sayings in HERE. (Ok...I really won't.)
Autumn, 1904: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
Autumn, 1908: Moderator: (Szpoti): Hiya, I'm pausing the game, as we're going to have a player leaving. Can you guys arrange for a replacement?
Autumn, 1908: Moderator: (Szpoti): Alrighty, looks like the show can go on now. Pick up your daggers, the stabbing party continues!
GG guys. I knew the solo run was almost impossible, but need to give it a try. Well defended Jamiet, and well played, we worked together pretty well all game long. |

O hai, Rdrivera and President Eden. Well played both of you. I really screwed up in Autumn 1915 when I'd entered a couple of provisional orders and then didn't come back and finalise things. It was absolutely worth you going for a solo Rdrivera, but I agree that at the point you drew, we would probably have been able to push you back. For my part, if I was going to try to stab you, I should have tried to do it sooner. GG wp |

ggs That game was a trip - classic example of the differences between full press and gunboat lol. I ended up at odds with every single player at various points, but the only fights I meant to pick were with Russia early and with France. I was sad that Brian and Italy (who I assume was Durga at the time before getting replaced - but not sure) were so adamantly against me trying to use Piedmont to attack France lol. I didn't actually want to start a solo run at any point in that game... it went amazingly well up until Maniac went for Denmark in Autumn 06 (which I'd have probably also done, FWIW, Maniac), and then things just kind of cascaded into a solo run earlier than I meant. I couldn't actually finish off Maniac and Vecna in time to orient myself east, though I think I should have been more aggressive in Autumn 09 and in all of 1910 to delay rivera more. If you want a snapshot of the moment my solo chances went to shit, look at Spring 08 - it's WAY too late in the game for Germany to be sending that many units away from the stalemate line. |

Good game. I really read a lot wrong and wound up not getting on the same page as Italy. It really was a matter of time before RDR and Jamie solidified their westward movement.
cant believe I made the same misorder twice. lmao

Good game all. In hindsight taking Denmark was an error in gunboat when you can’t single to Germany that it wasn’t about aggression just balancing out some SCs so I could move against France. I tried to signal this but Eden either didn’t see or didn’t want to see. I did think Germany could’ve solo’d at one point so well done Jamie and Rdr for preventing that
I thought it was reasonably likely to be just a balancing move, but I got worried that it could be the prelude to a bigger attack—particularly if I didn’t build fleets to respond, I probably never would get a chance if you decided to press the attack. I thought it was reasonable for you to want to balance the SCs for sure, it just kinda turned into a prisoner’s dilemma situation. It felt like something we could have easily worked out in press but sometimes gunboat breaks that way. |
