16 Oct 20 UTC Good game all. Sorry if my Leeroy Jenkins at the end there brought this about...still trying to figure out where I misplayed this. My plan was to give Russia Scandinavia short-term and then get it back after making gains elsewhere, but the UK-France alliance meant I had no forces to spare.
16 Oct 20 UTC ALL HAIL YOUR NEW RUSSIAN OVERLORD

I wanted to go for a no elimation victory so seeing you throw everything there at the end to try and protect Greece was pretty funny XD
16 Oct 20 UTC Initially I was just kinda reacting to what was happening on the board. Turkey trying to nab a center from me in spring 1901 combined with Austria already attacking Italy made me want to side with Austria at the start. I saw Turkey backtracking in Autumn when his gamble didn't work but I had already lost an opportunity to take a center from Austria by removing my unit from Galicia so I was pretty pissed about that. I figured that me + Austria + Germany had 18 centers between us so if we just played it to a 3-way draw then nothing could stop us. I wasn't thinking about stabbing Austria and even tried to support him into Bulgaria (hoping he would then support me into Constantinople). But when he rebuilt his army in Vienna instead of Trieste I knew he was going to attack me. It felt like he was just trying to go for whichever center seemed easiest to obtain and had no concept of alliance so I lost my trust in him. From there it was just trying to chip away at Austria and Turkey at the same time to make sure that both would stay weak (as opposed to focusing on Turkey first). And also trying to keep Germany from dying to France since I already started thinking about a solo and I needed some German centers for that and I knew I could never take them from France.

Germany: I think in general you need to learn to just calm down and play defensively when the situation calls for it. I was pretty tilted when I threw my unit to protect you only to see you send TWO MORE UNITS on an adventure when you didn't even have enough to defend. You being weakened by France combined with him never withdrawing his units away from your border meant that I never have to worry about an attack from you and was free to use all of my armies to take over the south.

Your play at the end could have caused me some trouble if I didn't get a build in 1908. But I saw you trying to support France from Denmark and that just had to stop. One thing you could have done that could be good from a "stopping a solo win" standpoint was to give Edinburgh back to England so he could bring an extra 2 fleets to fight me but that would probably result in you dying anyway.
16 Oct 20 UTC When Austria took Spain and Portugal I undetrstood everything was going to the end.
Well done to Russia and Good Game all!
